Mantoux Reviews

There should be very sensitive consideration given to people who have live in Africa for too long  , say more than 10 years. A typical example is someone very close to me that that live 35 years out  of his present 40 yrs in Africa and had regular course of BCG vaccine after very 10 years. That is 1 at birth , 1 while primary school, 1 in secondary  school and the last in 2004 , totally 4 doses from birth. The person has never had TB before and had work in the health sector in Africa.
The  index person was asked to do mantoux test in UK before commencing work in the healthcare, which is reasonable. But the question of false positivity was discussed before the test due the 4 doses of BCG, he had had.
As expected the test proved positive after 48hrs. The person was asked to do XRAY and inferon gamma test. Then sadly enough, the earlier part of false positivity was relegated and when the person present his test request in the hospital dept for the Xray, he felt very frustrated and humilated by the stigma of TB as read from the faces of the staff who came in contact with him.

I therefore proposed that a better review should be done in analysing the  Mantoux results  for people with with previous BCG and exposed  to TB  from Africa.

one month after mantoux testing at work i became very ill , like the flu x3.  after this horrible ? flu pasted i had achy joints and pain, and inflammaation.  the next year i did the test again same thing happened.  now my body as immune disorder ??doctors dont know if its lupus or mctd.  i stopped the mantoux testing and only get xrays,,I havnt been sick like that again, ever.
