Meloxicam

Short term memory extremely impaired. Can no longer verbally give driving directions. Have trouble spelling, something I used to excel in. Have trouble absorbing any new information at work. I will also type the completely wrong word, proof read and have no idea where that came from. Seem to be in a fog a good deal of the time.

2010 My husband was having back pain and was given Meloxicam.  He took a few and didn't like how they made him feel.  He committed suicide 2/21/2011.  He had 25 pills taken from the original bottle. I don't know when he started taking them again.  I would say to anyone don't take Meloxicam under any circumstances.

In 2007 a psychatrist prescribed Meloxicam he thougth it would help my nerve pain due to a L1-2 tumor (ependymoma) removed from my spinal column. On the second day of starting the drug I happened to have a depressing conversation about my loss of mobility after the tumor was removed. I then started driving home and had STRONG suicidial thoughts.  It really scared me.  I called the doctor and they said to stop the drug. The next day my husband was leaving the home and I had to call him back because again I had STRONG suicidial thoughts that unnerved me. This lasted 30 hours. I was lucky that I had family with me the whole time.  At about 30 hours it was like I "came to" and felt normal and all sucidial thoughts went away.  I will always remember this drug's name and will be aware of its potential. Do not take this drug if you live alone!

I have only been taking it for three days and have felt some shortness of breath while lieing down and like my heart was giong to beat out of my chest at the same time lastnight. this morning I had a very bad belly ache. I mean my whole belly was aching and for some reason i was thinking what if its the medication?? From all that I have read so far in literature and this message board confirms my feelings. It makes me wonder!

My wife had a stroke in 2002.  The doctor prescribed meloxicam 15mg in July 2010  for arthritis.  In August 2010  she had a silent heart attack diminishing heart pumps to 25%.

took mobic for 9 days and heart started pounding so fast ,thought i was going to die,why give this stuff to people?

Have been on 15MG Meloxicam for Reumetoid Artheritis for two weeks.  I have face swelling and increased appetite and have gained ten pounds. My joint pain has dissapeared completely, so it is worth the added weight gain. Just wondering if this will continue or level off?

Took 15mg once a daywith food for 2 weeks. Started having belly pain right off then after about a week had problem seeing out of right eye noticed some swelling of face after week and a half. Called dr. at 2 weeks told dr said stop taking if I wanted to. Then said not the medicine. Two days later having stroke like symptoms Slurred speech, right side weakness, trouble swollowing on the right side. After test Ct and MRI was told every thing good. Dr. still says not medicine. Strange thing is my speech is getting better almost back to normal a week and half  later. Still not walking very well.

3 days use 7.5 mg tablets with food.constant tummy upset,very slight urine bleed.spot only.

49yo female, 2/7 days use.  Dose 15mg daily, after food.  Experiencing severe headaches, visual disterbances, intermittent confusion, visual dreams/ hallucinations, exhaustion.
