Methotrexate

I have been on methotrexate for almost months and last two weeks have had severe pains at times lower back , It feel like the kidneys because one side hurts at times and in the mornings it is worse. I am 3 days shy of talking another blood test. Is there anything I can do other than drink a lot of water. Thank you

I only took it for 21 days but in that time, it put me into a full panic attack that lasted almost 8 days after I went off the medication. I had mental confusion, could not speak properly (I knew what I wanted to say but the words would not come out correctly. I also had all the "normal side effects" too. My Dr. does not believe me that the Meds caused this reaction and so I fired her yesterday. Anyone else with this anxiety problem?

My 27 years of MTX therapy have prevented physical deformity but caused me to have damage to my lungs. I am short of breath on any activity. MTX helped the pain somewhat but at the cost of my lungs? I was never told about this possibility nor told it ultimately RA could be fatal. I am only in my 50's & not ready to die yet!

I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis about 4 years ago when I was 13 or 14, they looked at me and said I had it, they didn't do any blood tests and when they did, nothing showed. But they started me on about 5 mg of Methotrexate, Prednisone, and Naproxen. I was on Methotrexate for about two years, and by the end of that time they had me on about 10 mg through self injection. Then they said that they had misdiagnosed me and I had "hypermobility syndrome" and said I would "grow out of it in time." My long term side effects are now gastrointestinal problems, malnourishment, weight loss of 20+ pounds, candidiasis (yeast infection in esophagus), and insomnia recently.

im a 44yrs old female who took methotrexate for 2yrs with excellent results and no side effects but had to stop taking it when it started lowering my white cells.

I am 60 Years of age. 8 years ago i was falsely diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, i was started on Methoblastin 5Mg a week, Was not given Folic Acid and Ranitidine within the 5 months of taking the tablets i developed exposed blood vessels and spots, Stomach pains, reflux, Unable to properly swollow food, confussion, memmory loss, anxiety attacks, nightmares, hard on sleeping, high fevers, diahria, halusanations, itching, dry skin, mouth and eyes, coughin, sore tendons etc.. After i had stoped taking it, specialist said the side effects would go away. The side effects have never gone.. I try to controll it by taking Folic Acid 1mg a day, Glusamine (Joint food). 3 days a week i will take a small amount of Milk Thistle. Too much of Milk thistle would cause Mood swings and Constipation. Doctors are no help.

painful cough after 2 days of 1st dose lasting-- to date-- 6 days

I just started Methotrexate, I started itching in the same areas where I had experienced itching with the chicken pox 2 years ago. I am a 51 year old female who contracted chicken pox at 49 years old. This frightens me as I know this can cause disseminated herpes which can be potentially fatal. My Rheum told me to take Benadryl. I believe this is going to be my one and only shot this drug scares the death out of me.
