Modafinil

I am a patient of Asthma. I am using modafinil at the day time to avoid sleepliness. Is the tablet dangerous for Asthama patient.

After taking Modafinil 200mg for 4 days I suffered an episode of hypertonia that left me collapsed on the floor and unable to move or speak. I remained in spasm for about 5 minutes, followed by a period of extreme fatigue. I had dyskinesia for a further 24 hours.

I´ve been taking them on and off. I´ve always had violent thoughts and been a bit paranoid due to being abused in my childhood and also my teens. I have problems with depression also.

When I take Modafinil my aggressive thoughts dissapear. But when they go off I rather get cranky and aggressive, I´ve noticed that the main reason for that is that I cant notice my bloodsugarlevels when Im on and when they go off it feels like i need sugar in my body.

Also Modafinil makes you cope with stress more, when you go off you think that you can do everything but you cant, that makes you really irritated.

I dont think your brother is irritated as a direct sideeffect from Modafinil. It can be his surrounding, stress at work, he is eating unhealthy. I´d recommend GI diet for anyone who is cranky.

He needs to think why he has these irritationproblems, my cousin became aggressive after school because she didnt know what to do with her life anymore, the anxiety from that made her go ballistic on everything, lifecrisis that caused depression!

As I said I´ve been sufferring from depression, Modafinil makes it dissapear, when the drug is leaving my body, I become depressed again. So Modafinil wears depression off but it comes back again. Ivé done antidepressants earlier in my life and nothing worked, so Modafinil can be great in one sense. Bad in a other.

Your brother might have issues with depression and Modafinil only masked the symptoms. Id recommend roseroot, tyrosine and st:johns worth to calm him down.

But answering your question, I dont think Modafinil caused your brothers aggression in a longterm- basis.

You need to talk to him about his real issues, some people want a quick answer and wont think things over it´s easy to blame Modafinil, because then you know the problem. But considering the amount of years when I´ve been taking these drugs, well. The only longterm sideeffect has been that it elevates my reflexes for a few days and my brain reacts to movement. Thats all, no aggression, no nothing! Im just a bit jumpy.

any advice or experiences that could help me understand would be really helpful please. My brother has started university to study architecture this year and due to the huge amount of nights he had to work, started going on modafinil. Now that the year is finished and he's not taking it however, he has become aggressive, irrational and rude. Does anyone know if this is because of the modafinil or if there's a link. He's changed so much and is doing irrepairable damage to our family, I'd just like to know why.

I was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis which causes inflamation in the joints of the spine because of this I suffered extreme chronic fatigue. To fight the fatigue i used methamphetamine which was very effective of course. I went a little overboard with my meth use and thought i would get some sort of rehab treatment.The rehab doctor prescribed me modafinil to lessen the meth witdrawl symptoms. Modadinil turned me into an impulsive gambler instantly. I do normally gamble a little ,maybe once a week I spend 20 to 50 dollars on poker machines, but with modafinil I lost about 5000 dollars within a matter of 5 hours , i simply could not stop myself from gambling , i became extremely impulsive.

SUICIDE: I've been taking modafinil since last year. When I take a break from it and go back, I noticed an intense period of depressive thoughts. Life isn;t worth living. This intensifies and the thoughts of suicide are EXTREME. I actually found this site as I was looking into suidice. I would love for there to be more information about this online as I am desperate to know more. I still take the drug at 200mg per day only, but I am worried about the suicide thing because i'm working towards it. Im also extemely worried about psychosis. I am paranoid that this drug may end up making me mentally ill, as opposed to helping me stay awake and energetic.
