  • Had my fourth colonoscopy…

Had my fourth colonoscopy on 9/22/11. This time, I still have diarrhea! Sometimes I can't get to the bathroom in time. Friends say it is like their IBS symtems. I asked my doctor if it could be a result of the Moviprep and he told me "definitely not, it is stress". I haven't had any unusual 'stress'.
I have to go back in 6 months for another one and I am looking for a different solution.

  • After taking the poison (MoviPre…

After taking the poison (MoviPrep) into my system, on April 11, 2011, I"ve had the worst experiences of my life. First of all, I never had the Colonoscopy, due to the fact that I threw the stuff up after it was laying in to stomach all day. When i threw it up, it came out like jelly, that
you couldn't even pick up. It rolled across the floor, like some kind of nightmare. Had to call a
neighbor in to help get it up off of the kitchen floor. It enflamed the lining of my stomach, as I
had to have an Endoscopy to see what went wrong? An experience of a lifetime!!!
Now, all of a sudden, I have Gastroparesis!!
I have to go for a 5 hour test to see why my food will no longer pass from my stomach into the intestines, since drinking MoviPrep. It has cost me boocoos of money for all of these tests, with more to come.

That stuff should be removed from the Public, before it kills someone!!!

I've never in my life had an experience lie this one!!!
Be careful before you put anything like this in your body.

  • too moviprep in preparation…

too moviprep in preparation for colonoscopy. no side effects so far, after first preparation, however no effects either

  • I had read the postings on…

I had read the postings on this site before taking the moviprep.  Actually, it isn't all that bad.  It tastes like very strong lemon Pez (flavored with salt).  Like some of the other posters, I did drink it through a straw that helped.  It gave me a slight headche and some chills but no other side effects.  It started working about 30 minutes after my first sip and then lasted for a few hours.  By the time I drank my second liter (five hours later) I had become good friends with the throne.  The worst part is the irritation your butt feels because you're going a dozen times.  But, that is the worst part and quite frakly it doesn't last all that long.  Had my colonosocopy yesterday and it was a breeze.  Got there at 8:00 a.m., was lying on my side at 8:40 ready to go, was leaving the doctor's office at 9:30 and was hoem by 10:00.  Slept great when I got home.  Was a little sluggish the rest of the day but feel great today.  Bottom line, don't let some of these posts scare you.  You can get through it...it isn't that bad.

  • It wasn't completley terrible.…

It wasn't completley terrible. The taste wasn't awful until you drink the first mark, then it gets gross. I went about an hour after I drank the first liter then fell asleep. The following morning didn't go so well. I drank the moviprep and began to feel nasueas. I also had the chills and I became angry for no reason. Finally I got everything out and headed to my colonoscopy and everything went smooth.

  • Am currently half way thro…

Am currently half way thro my moviprep preparation for tomorrows colonoscopy. It started working within 45mins of the first mouthful. Yes, I am having stomach aches and cramps. but was advised of this by my consultant and in the info pack with the moviprep. Thankfully the taste isnt really too bad....there are a lot of things that taste 1000's of times worse.
As for comments below, dehydration is a normal 'side effect' of naturally occuring diarrohea, (or even vomiting), if the body is loosing fluids or solids at the rate that moviprep causes it too...then you need to replace those fluids....and hence stop dehydration occuring.
There are a lot of things worse than taking this stuff, and if it has been prescribed for you, its for a reason, to diagnose something, and personally I'd rather take the hit of 24 hours discomfort and get a clean bill of health at the end.
Unless side-effects are serious, people should really stop whining, as you will end up scaring other people from taking the medication prior to an investigation of the bowel, and could cause further problems for them.
If its a case that it hasnt worked for you, it might just be a case of getting your GP to prescribe something different!

  • HORRIBLE!!!! was done taking…

HORRIBLE!!!! was done taking the first dose by 7 p.m.  First the taste was indescribably horrible.  They say afterwards you are to drink some type of clear fluid.  There was no room to drink anything else.  I felt as though I was filled up to my neck and began to gag and have burning in my chest and throat, gagging and extreme discomfort and trouble breathing.  4 hours later I still had not gone to the bathroom.  In pain and discomfort sitting standing or trying to lie down. I called dr.s emergency line and dr. told me this was unusual and advised me to take baking soda and water - since I did not have Maalox in the house.  didn't work.  I finally went out in the snow to the store at midnight (feeling I would die before getting there and back).  Maalox didn't work.  I finally prayed and put my finger in my throat to try to vomit.  Lot of gagging and a lot of air came up but it cleared the tightness in my chest and I was able to sleep afterwards.  Around 7 this morning  (12 hrs later) my bowels began to move.  The 2nd round of drink was supposed to start at 6 a.m.  No WAY I'm taking it.  No Colonoscopy today!

  • I had to drink 2 liters of…

I had to drink 2 liters of this poison Wed. nite for colonoscopy. It was so bad I had to keep my hands over my mouth as I kept vomiting it up in my mouth. I have never been so sick. Today is Saturday, and sorry to say, I have such nausea all I do is cry. I told my dr. that if someone doesn't come up with different medication I would never have another colonoscopy. Unfortunately, the med. they used for prep. seven yrs. is no longer used. My blood pressure went down, pulse up to 106. Atrial flutters, chills. The worst: NAUSEA

  • Movi prep taken for colonoscopy…

Movi prep taken for colonoscopy in 2007. Could not leave house for 6wks. because of continuing diarrhea. Has been a constant battle since with regular episodes of diarrhea. Movi prep has the same ingredient of ethelene glycol as in radiator fluid. That is what people are known to poison other people. I hope someone has some kind of comment or similar problems.
