I have been taking for two weeks now. I am on no other medications and have no allergies and am in my mid 40s. From studies done most elderly people are the ones withnthenserious side effects. I have few, just a bit of tiredness and dizziness and insomnia. I think that compared to the health risks of high bp it is worth it. I also think that most people with less side effects do not write comments, so it is not a fair judgement to base the drug on what is written here or on any blog.

The drug works well to regulate blood pressure but finger and foot stiffness and discomfort the foot discomfort is in the nubius bone region by the small toe
The fingers are just stiff especially in the morning

I too have noticed a change in my libido

I have MVP and this is my third try at Blood Pressure meds that dont have severe side effects. With Coversyl, I developed at cough after 3 months. With Atacand, I felt dizzy and lightheaded and developed a rash as well. With Olmetec I am experiencing heart palpitations, flutters and missed beats as well as joint pain! I hate being a guinea pig! If I were to say which of the three were the best, I would have to say Coversyl, I never had any other reaction and I didnt feel palpitations and flutters!

I have been using 40mg of Olmetec Olmesartan for the past almost 2 years
since i have been taking this drug i have a few episodes of Kidney Stones
can this drug have a side effect of cousing kidney stones ?

Taking 40mg/day. Have had most of the listed side effects (on information sheet) including cough, sore back (excruciating pain in upper back), dizziness, lethagy, general feeling of being unwell, feeling of a lump just under the rib cage... been on it for just over a week. All of these side effects have been mild and short lived but recurring.

My sex drive is disappearing. Horrible!!!

i took olmetec for 3 days i took 20mg i had pains in the stomach,dizzy ,my eyes are blurry ,like i hasd the flu ,i was ok till i took the tablet ,i felt worse after taking it glad i stopped it

Taking olmetec for 3rd day, my symptoms are feelings of light headiness and dizzines in am, unable to focus on my work, had to rest my head on my desk, some nausea. In the pm my head felt like it was being squeezed in a vice and just an odd feeling of unable to focus on things and thoughts.

taking olmetec for about 15 days straight,my heart beats fast but then it disappear.but i could breath normally.heartburn i guess.but not i continue taking olmetec.my frequent headaches are gone.

I took the 20mg at 7pm last night for first time. Within 45min I had to sleep but felt drunk or hung over. At 1am I woke in sweats, chest pain and nervous yet dizzy and exhausted.
Today was a bad day in general. Found the bonding agent is Talc which I am allergic to talc powder. If I sit for long my bp drops low, if I get up it rises fast. The dizzy feeling is not good and hard to walk. Vision impaired not able to see the difference between number 0, 8 or 3. I am being told the dose is to high for my system and that I have had an allergic reaction. Let it work itself out of my system. Nearly 24hrs later I still feel bad.

Olmetec has increased my Penilisfunction & even with viagra doesnt seem to work

The only side effect I seem to have is insomnia, I've tried quite a few other meds, but this one is the best yet, and it REALLY  lowers my B.P.  am wondering what side effects others have had.

I have just had an allergic reaction to Olmetec; no more than 10mins after taking a 20mg tablet - i started to itch VERY badly, mostly my hands and feet but also under my bust where i have come out in a bad rash.  I have phoned the doctor and pharmacist as i was feelinf distressed by the amout of itching - it seemed uncontrolable.  My doctor said to try Zertec (a hayfever remedy) as it would help the itching but so far what i have found beneficial is rubbing ice cubes over my hands and feet, i have now taken the Zertec and hope it will also keep my free from the discomfort!  I hope this will help someone else.
As an added extra, feel nauseous and my breathing is difficult.  I have been made aware to keep an eye on this as it could progress to anaphalactic shock. Not good!  I guess i'm one of the people its not going to work for......

 I feel very ,very (unusually) tired and lethargic, almost as if I'd been drugged - cannot stay awake, feel like a zombie. Cannot concentrate or focus on simple tasks and conversations. Alertness drops to almost zero.

Shortness of breath... along with the low blood pressure.

I was taken off hydrochlorithiazide and put on Olmetec... along with blood pressure meds.  After two days, my blood pressure reading went way down... 103/56.  That does not sound healthy to me.

Constriction at times in throat with difficulty breathing nd weight gain. Does it retain fluid?

I have been taking Olmetec 20mg for four days one tablet a day . I am having chest tightness, hot and tingly hands  AND hives all over the body. Stopped on 5th day.

l have been taking olmetec now for 5 weeks my side effects are a runny nose dizziness and feeling sick  also hot feet.  do not feel well at all.

I have been on this for 3 weeks now.  20 mg a day.  Never had real high BP till a recent couple checks.  I have burning in feet, nerves tinging bad, chest tightness and hot hot red hands.
I am going to stop taking this and see a doc. These side effects are terrible.
Anyone else ?

i have been taking omletec for 6 months and recently i have been experiencing chest pain, a burning in my chest, ringing in my ears, backache, headache very emotional and gettin very breathless does anybody else get this

Does the taking of olmetec sometimes cause muscle cramps in legs and feet?

my doctor has prescribed olemetec 40 mg for me.  ive only been taking them for the last 3 days and was wondering when side effects might occur or is it different times for different people.

EXCESSIVE SWEATING ,HEADACHE,LIGHT HEADED,ITCHY CRAWLY FEELING ON SKIN,EMOTIONAL.

I've been taking Olmetec, 20 mg, for about 4 months.   In the last 4 weeks, I've been having some chest discomfort on the left side and last night my heart was beating very fast - went to Emergency and they could not find anything wrong and have recommended the holter monitor test.   It occurred to me that this may be a side a effect and I noticed someone reported heart palpitations.   Could this be a side effect and appear after a few months?

i am feeling very short of breathe but unsure if its olmetec causing it.has anyone else had this happen
