Otrivin

I have used Otrivin for many years. It was previously available in the US as "Natruvent" over-the-counter which is when I started to use it. Natruvent disappeared from the shelf and I started to buy Otrivin from an online pharmacy. I know that I have used it for way too long, but the nasal blockage without it was just intolerable. Recently, the online pharmacy indicated that Otrivin was "backordered". I was able to buy it from another site, but the new spray that I received contains a preservative. I don't believe that this was an ingredient previously. After using the new spray a few times yesterday for a cold, I am severely blocked up with a rebound effect. I attribute this specifically to the preservative. I cannot sleep, eat, talk, breathe. I am suffocating. I suppose I will need to go cold turkey now which is excruciating. Does anyone know how long this might take before I can breathe again. I am a professional interviewer and my job is at stake. Thanks

Otrivin is very dangerous for long term use. I have been using for last 7 years.. Because of that I am suffering from hypertention and fast heart beats as well as my sinus problem is worsen . I have just stopped it and started to use saline nasal spray which has no side effects and is good for nasal congestion and sinus or DNS. My advised to u people is that dont use otrivin nasal spray.

I have been using otrivin for 20 years on a daily basis and as far as i know,im very healty!!!!!
no glaucoma or anything else!!!!

I used the stuff during 10 years ( my nose got broken in the service), and as a result i ended up with such severe inhaling problems, together with mukus excretion, that my specialist ordered me to stop using it for at least 1 year.
Together with this he prescribed Rhinocort, and Kestinlyko, an anti- histamine, to prevent develpoing astma.
After about 1 1/2 year my problems were more or less solved.( apart from a mechanical blocage on one side, due to the broken nose). I will never use Otrivin again, if I can prevent it!

I have been using Otrivin for 24 years, daily. A couple of months ago i felt pain in my right eye and the eyedoctor gave me the diagnose Glaucoma.

i am regular using ortvin. is it right
