Plavix

I have been on plavix and asparin 4 months, SP cerebral aneurysm repair) this evening I fell hard on my low back(completely missed a chair ), i couldnt move for a few mins, really hurt... got up, applied ice to low back,moving ok but sore, I guess I am worried about internal bleeding in my spin...I am tired and want to go to sleep just long day ...not drowsy , I didn't hit my head. plan to set my alarm to wake up and move thru the night.should i be going to the ER or call my doctor ? if i wasnt on blood thinner i wouldnt worry but...what should I watch for?

Stopped Plavix 2 wks prior to a scheduled surgery; experienced chest pains, thought I was having a heart attack. Went to ER and the pains happened 2 more times, the last while the cardiologist was at my bedside. At a follow up two months later he said I was a lucky boy since there where no permanent damages. At about the same time, unknown to me, a coworker's father died when Plavix was stopped for his surgery; what a monster they have created.
Do Not Stop taking this drug without something like Lovonox (self injection) to bridge you over until a couple of days before surgery. =-O

Rectal bleeding

In 2001 I had heart attack and I was found to have 3 major blockages in my heart arteries.I was offered three choices ie. medication ,stent,or bypass surgery.I opted for a stent and i was put on medication ie. plavix 75mg,caprin 75mg ,.lipostat 40mg and dilzem sr 120mg the latter twice daily.A month later i went into hospital to get my stent inserted and i told the surgeon that i was feeling so well and fit that my arteries must be clear.I was told dont be silly that i had three blockages only a month ago.When they began the precedure they first gave me an angioplasty after which the surgeon said all my bockages were gone and all my arteries were clear.Needless to say i did not have a stent inserted.Ten years later i am still on the same medication and i am feeling great and in good form and walk two miles daily and swim a thousand meters four times weekly.The only side effect i noticed is i bleed easily.Since the heart attack i see my cardioligist annually and he does a full M O T which includes blood and stress test and all has been normal sofar.I give most credit for my good health sofar to the medication that my doctor has prescribed.My problem now is my doctor wants to take me off the plavix and i am afraid my health might deteriorate.My reason for this fear is that i have two brothers with triple bypasses and their health is not good and they are not on plavix.Two other brothers died from  sudden heart attacks one aged 36yrs. the other aged 50yrs.My father died at 50yrs.also from a sudden heart attack.It is obvious that we suffer from a genetic heart defect.

A horrible experience taking plavix, i had all the side effects taking this drug ,question ur Dc. before taking it and 9don,t believe him)

Gastrointestinal.  Severe pain starting in middle of chest and wrapping around to middle of back.  Tests showed inflamation in stomach and I am now on a bland diet indefinately.  Also had trouble swallowing pills and food.  I was diagnosed with diabetes type II in Nov. 09, but since I've been off Plavix my sugar has normalized.  I can't find this anywere as a side-effect... just wondering?  Also suffer with anemia and low platelets with no explanation, dizziness, sharp pains in my feet and ankles.

about a year ago i had a stroke also bad dry skin, i also had a full head of hair and a full beard lately my beard and hair are both are both falling out

could plavix be the reason for my hair loss

The B.M. is coming through black in color recently. I have read that taking Plavix can be the cause of this difference. I have been on PLAVIX for a long time...several years.

what foods should be avoided while taking the prescription Plavix?

Ive been on plavix and 325 asprin for 4 days woke up this morning with half my tongue swollen been up an hour now and it seems to be all right now no swollen now.What do you think
