Prevacid

I am not sure prevacid is causing my diarrhea, I have been taking it for a period of years without food, but have recently wondered if I should be taking it with food. Have been having this problem for one month, and am desperately trying to determine if suddenly this is my problem. would like to have an answer.

I don't know what I'd do without Prevacid. Over the last 20yrs, I've tried them all as they've come out. I worked for a doctor's office and was able to obtain samples as they were released. I was up to (and in some cases more than) the maximum dosage of Tums almost every day of the week. My GERD was so bad that I could bend over and end up with a mouth full of acid. Prevacid is the only thing that allows me to eat the food I really want without dealing with heartburn all the way up to the every night. No longer do I have to worry about bending over. I have had no adverse effects from it whatsoever.

Severe headache, increased acid reflux, palpitations, dizziness, high blood pressure, this drug is poison and I wonder how much the kickback is for physicians who prescribe it.  Why isn't there a class action lawsuit?

After takeing Prevacid for 2 months I developed diarrhea, which over the following 2 1/2 weeks became severe. I questioned my Dr. about the Prevacid being the cause, he thought not and encouraged me to continue. After several negative tests and planning a colonoscopy, I quit the Prevacid on my own and the diarrhea stopped. 

I have taken prevacid, or tylenol, It get this system like a bladder infection, after I quit taken them both, I never had any more systems.

Prevacid has been a God-send.  I've tried Prilosec, Aciphex, Nexium, Pepcid-AC, Zegerid and more.  Nothing has even come close to giving the relief I've received from Prevacid.  I used to have such severe reflux that it was even burning inside my ears and my throat was so sore, to the point of bringing me to tears.  I even felt like something was stuck in my throat. The acid was destroying the enamel on my teeth too.  It scared me just to think of how much worse the gerd would get.  If I didn't have Prevacid, there's no doubt that I couldn't carry on with daily activities.  My gerd isn't perfect but it's so much better than before. I've been taking Prevacid for about one year in the amount of 15 m.g., two times a day. I have only noticed positive effects from Prevacid.  If you have gerd, it's good to avoid high fat foods, chocolate, mint, chewing gum and spicy foods.  Everything you do helps.
