taking seretide sue to severe reciurring flu etc. extreme bad hoarse throat resulting in being hardly able to speak. I am flushing my throat after every application

mine ive been using seretide for just one week now...because of suspicious asthma..im also hyperthyroid...but in my one week used i developed hyperventilation which i never expereinced before...now im hyperventilating almost everyday and will now stop using seretide...

I had teenage onset asthma and had to use Seretide back then; in my early 20s (I am now 30) I literally stopped using Seretide, and Ventolin for the most part and I have been singing now professionally for around 6 years. Just recently we moved, I got the flu and had a terrible bout of asthma - had to take prednisolone for a week and have now been taking Seretide for around 6 weeks and I have lost the high register of my voice. I've had to cut out many songs from my sets as I just cannot get the chest/head mix to work - it isn't there. I feel like I have lost around 20-30% of my vocal range, and now have a huskiness in my voice rather than the natural clarity. I believe it is solely due to the Seretide. It is very upsetting and I am now cutting the meds down, hoping that it was just the flu that triggered the asthma and not where we moved to. I will know in a few weeks if the vocal range returns when I have completely cut Seretide out.

i had suffering asthma since abaut 15 years. but since use seretide inhaler i am feeling more better. but i am affraid seretide inhaler 125 mg for along time. now iam still breast feeding for my third baby.
and also iam affraid also increase my blood sugar level dan getting osteoporosis.

I still get chest infections eventhough I inhale seretide diskus 250 twice daily

i gained weight taking cipralex but now that I have stopped have
not lost weight-I also used seretide diskus twice a day-does that
cause weight gain or prevent loss of weight

After use of Seretide 5 months I get myocardii infarct. I am 63 old man, and I never be ill in past. *DONT_KNOW* *DONT_KNOW*

Hi Sandra~ Did stopping Seretide reduce your anxiety and panic? I also feel anxious on this, kinda shaky, and am SO thirsty and dehydrated all the time, and have only taken it for just over a week... I think I have also put on a few lb of weight this week!

I think I have too high a dose (500) - esp as this is the first medication I have had for what is presumed to be COPD (spirometry normal, but junior registrar thinks it looks like COPD).

Anyhow - side effects, on one puff every 12 hours: CRAMP, BAD HEADACHE, HEAVY FEELING, FALLING ASLEEP (at home), feeling extremely tired, feeling very depressed,

i have been on it for over a week now, and think i am going to take it once every 24 hours, like Warren below! 500 seems a bit OTT esp for somebody who is 67, as the first drug of choice- esp as not experiencing breathlessness YET.

Been on Seretide for 4 years 125mg 1 puff per day just before bed. For 2.5 years I've been suffering with pain just below my left cage on the side of my torso, panic attacks started 2 years ago only to have been really bad earlier this week. I've just come off blood thinner Clexane 60mg for 10 days due to pre blood clot formation in my left leg, although blood results came up normal for anything serious. Also had an infection in the leg which meant antibiotics 875mg amoxicillin every 8 hours for 10 days. In addition to this, I've had serious vertigo and pain in left shoulder, chest and legs. I made the decision to come off Seretide and go on to Becotide and after 3 days I'm feeling a lot better, but unfortunately get the headache assoiated with Becotide, still not happy. I did some research this evening and found information on Cromolyn Sodium on the net which is a non steroid 8-) inhaler. If you Wiki it, you'll see why I mention it here. (It has different shelf names in different countries.) So tomorrow I'm going to the pharmacy to find it. Seretide is just too toxic for me.

It makes brathing easier, but about a month ago i wke to a awful sensation ive never known before panic which passed quickly, but now during the last week more and more frequently to the point I even have a sence of permanant discomfort in my body like it doesnt pass or go away entirely I cant think distincly of fear in this feeling for aparticular thing axept fear of its control and how alien it is to me and its interferance to my daily life I do get nausea at times and now the last couple of days my appetite is gone I think the stress of the events

i have been taking seritide since December and am convinced it is cause me to have panic attacks /anxiety I have stopped taking Seritide since yesterday I want to see if will reverse this awful awful what I believe to be side effect

After taking Seretide, 9 yr old also complains of stuff stuck in the throat and finding it hard to breath. (As well as pyshcotic nightmares). A disaster of a drug for us. No problems when on flixotide.

9 yr old son put on Seretide. Psychotic nightmares from day 2. Waking up very distressed. Shakes. fits. Saying "Help me hlpe me please. I am going to die.  Help me please. I am going to kill myself. Oh No. I died. Help me . Help me. There is a dude in teh rom over there. There is someone in my head telling me what to say and do. Help me help me help me." Hugely traumatic for all. Taken off it straight away after 1st lot of nightmares. Nightmares still continuing days later.

Took myself off Seretide for 3 weeks. Back on 48 hours ago - 2 lots of nose-bleeds & hoarse voice again. Will report this to my throat specialist & GP. The
Spiriva & Bisolvon don't help Seretide do its job

severe panic attacks: i took seretide 250 for 2 years and during that period i started having panic attacks. first these were mild, then very strong. at first they were diagnosed as asthma attacks but after 2 hospitalisations they were diagnosed as panic attacks. eventually i had up to 2 attacks a week
i had never had a diagnosed panic attack before.  i stopped taking seretide and over a period of 3 months the panic attacks disappeared. during those 3 months i took no other medication. now 9 months after stopping seretide, the panic attacks have completely disappeared.

breathing easier but acid indigestion and reflux. Cramp. I stopped taking the seretide evohaler and the terrible acid continued but got easier. The cramp has gone, thank goodness as one muscle would cramp one way and the other would cramp the other, in a leg it is so painful. I now find after having been off Seretide for a year and thinking that the acid had settled that I have aa stomach ulcer. Before going on the Seretide I didnt know what indigestion was.

Hi, I replied previously but accidentally deleted it when I tried to edit. So here goes a second time. Vitamin A with Vitamin C is good for chest infections. Vitamin A helps fight infections and is particularly good for the mucus membranes of the chest. I first saw this information in a book "Give Asthma the Big A" by Marion Shepherd-Slee. Vitamin A (as a fat soluble vitamin) can be toxic so I was loathe to try it until I had a flu which was difficult to get rid of and severely worsened the asthma. I took 2 Vit.A (2x 5000 iu) and 2 Vit. C (2x 500mg) in the afternoon and the same dose again that night. I woke up the next morning with hardly any sign of the flu or the asthma.  After another  24 hrs  ( 4 doses) there was no sign of it. Different people react differently to Vitamin A. Some people can get a toxic dose at 15 000- 20 000 iu while others can take 50 000- 100 000 iu over a short term with no ill effects. One initial sign of toxicity is a severe headache. Just stop the Vitamin A and it should go away. DO NOT TAKE VITAMIN A IF YOU ARE PREGNANT AS IT CAN CAUSE BIRTH DEFECTS.  I now use Vitamin A,C and E (only 2 tablets of E a day) to control any chest infections. Unfortunately recently I came down suddenly with a severe viral chest infection and did not maintain my usual dosage. It was the worse congestion I had ever had ( and I have had Pneumonia) with very sticky phelgm. Intravenous Vitamin C had helped me with a case of cellulosis so I decided to give it a try here. I noticed that it helped but seemed to wear off after a 6-15 hours. I then went on to have 30 grams intravenous every day and sometimes every second day. I also upped my Vitamin A and oral Vitamin C. It was the only thing that seemed to help me. Gradually I improved and am almost well. High doses of intravenous Vitamin C can lower your copper levels which can affect arthitis and certain hormones so you might like to tke a tablet of copper if you are on intravenous C for any length of time. I had tried antibiotics but they had not helped. In New Zealand a man was in a coma with Swine Flu and recovered after being given intravenous Vitamin C (Google - New Zealand, swine flu and Vitamin C - very interesting). i know that doctors knows best but most of the time they treat for immediate relief. especially in kids steriods should not be recommended help her with the cold then lots of exercise to build her lungs. she is only 3 do u know the effects of steriods and what it can do to a 3 yr old?

hi peter, yes i have experienced everything u mentioned. i am presently on symbicort and have felt the negative effects of this drug. i am constantly gaining weight, bones and tissue aches, vision issues u name it i feel it. i feel for u. what i use to balance of the effects of the steriods is Bissolvon. this breaks down the phelm and makes it easier to bring up without unnecessary coughing. u may want to change where u live as i live in a tropical country and whenever i go to new york i dont ever get any attacks. wish i could change mine

Hi, Has anyone else had these side effects? I have tried Becotide, Seretide and one other. Every time I only lasted approximately 3 months before I gave up. I was on, and am on, Ventolin constantly. With the Becotide etc my lungs would dry out and I had a dry tight cough/wheeze. I needed to cough to dislodge the phlegm.This got more difficult and eventually the coughing caused hoarseness. The phlegm would catch in my throat and I would have to cough to dislodge it so I could breathe. At times this was difficult and it interfered with my breathing to the point where I had real fear. At this stage I'd give up as I was concerned that I would get to the stage where I couldn't dislodge it. Has anything like this happened to anyone else? 

Seretide is perfect for me. I fell a very good experience.

i am 43 yrs old. I have cystic fibrosis and asthma and bronchaitisase. I been taking seredide 250 (disc) twice a day for more than 3 years. lately i been taking a high dosage 4 times a day due to onset of deteriorating lung conditions or flu when i am off antibiotics...unusual side effects of seretide are; panic attack (feeling i am going to explode or collapse), confusion, feeling of asthma panic, sore throat, wheezing, nausea, tiredness of limbs. i am also taking Doxycycline, azithromycine,ventolin,Avanza. i have now reduced dosage of seretide and currently monitoring situation.

Sefretide makes me have bronchial spasms, can't breathe, feel blocked in airways, horseness, numb throat on swallowing, mucus, heavy head...After being very sick for 3 months with cold, bronchitius then pnuemonia. using in halers and very slow on revery. I stopped taking it for 2 days and in that time I suddenly could breathe. Take deep breaths right into my lungs lay down to sleep in the evenings and not having to clear my throat. I couldn't believe it. Then this morning I thought I had better not go for to long without having my inhaler. Took two puffs and had a bronchial spasm. Couldn't breathe bvery scary. I am to scared to ever use it again....I am wondering what I can use in its place. Feel like crap again today. I am still very wheezy and feel miserable. Full of mucus...It actually gives me an attack. Now wonder I wasn't getting better

i have been experiencing terrible gas pains eversince i used seretide.  i recently had surgery on my stomach and the gas pains make are making the healing process intolerable. 

So Seretide makes others dizzy? I have been on Seretide a week and so dizzy i don't feel safe to drive. Is this a normal side effect?

I'm living in Manila, Philippines and have been diagnosed as having COPD.  I've been using a Seretide diskus which helps me breathe easier when I feel the need.  I recently learned that Seretide diskus is not approved for use in the USA.  Anybody know why or would others with COPD tell me what medicines they are taking?  Thanks!  Bob in Manila

My daughter is 3years 4 months old and she had a cough for about a month. She was given medications for cough but none worked. She was then prescribed for Seretide 50 evohaler which she takes twice a day. Is this safe for her and does that mean she has asthma?

Seretide changed my life, it has kept me out of hospital and has meant i can stay somewhere overnight without my nebuliser. 

losing balance dizziness

My 6 year old daughter is also having terrible tantrums, moods swings and is quite hyperactive on seretide.  Can I replace this drug with something else that is better suited for her.  

I have been taking Seretide 250 for almost 8 years - had initial weight gain about 1 stones - around the midriff area - now noticing other effects - head shocks - palpitations - sinus headaches - dizzyness - have lots of markings on my tummy - stomach discomfort and GERD - was on Becotide and Serevent prior to that for approx 10 years ?

My two year old son has been put on2 puffs of seretide day and night and while his asthma has been better controlled his moods and tantrums have become unbearable. Did taking your child off this medication change their mood??

I was thoroughly satisfied. It made my days much easier. I could do all those things I could not do before without getting out of breath..like running, climbing the stairs....

my son is 11 he was put on seretide even though we found out he wasnt asthmatic he has become overweight, has stomach aches, back and leg pain is skin seems more sensitive cracks on his eyelids and behind his ears, combined with the flu injection permanent flu sysmptoms the name of a specialist who can helf to correct his health problems

it to me 2 years of changing my diet to get from 14 to 12 stone and within 2 months ive gone from 12 stone back to 14 !!!! all around my gut area.... no extra food ive only changed my inhailer

My 4 year old son is currently taking Seretide. He is on 2 puffs morning and night. I believe it has had an exteme effect on his behaviour and moods. He has become very aggressive and his behaviour in general has been terrible since taking it, to the point where we are going to the pharmacist to have him taken off it.

I am 48, gave up smoking 10 years ago. I am 5 days into using seretide, have now lost my voice. I was put on this due to my doctor considering that I may have asthma.
