Simvastin Reviews

After taking simvastin after taking two other kinds, they all effected me the same- stiffness, muscle aches, weakness etc. After stopping all together, I still have not regained strength, and have not lost aches and leg soreness when using???I believe that there is a lasting aftereffect after stopping the pills.

Hi Iam 72 years of age and have been taking statins for about 2 years, the first type did not agree with me and I was prescibed Simvastin some 18 months ago. I began to have problems walking /going up and down stairs even getting out of bed in the morning , and when I had a bath I could hardly lower myself in to the bath and basically fell in as my arm muscles were so weak. I have to confess that I was having to come to terms with whatever was affecting my muscular strength, I just thought I have a big problem. Then after hearing various stories about Statins I gave them up some 3 months ago and being very honest the improvement is remarkable . I just feel so much better especially in walking and I can just about run up the stairs now.

I was 68 years of age when Simvastin was prescribed. Prior to this I was na active jogger. After some months, in the space of one day, I went from jogging to walking with difficuilty. I stopped Simvastin almost a year ago, but the aches and pains in my leg muscles have persisted to the point that jogging seems to be at an end for me. It seems to me that any good the medication might have done has been negated by the lack of cardio-vascular exercise.

Have had sever pain in my right side of my chest, had several tests done to determine the reason, and found out from 2 different Doctors, that the simvastin that I have been taking for several years, has my muscles deterioting,
Especially the back ones, it is very painfull and has taken 2 months to digano.  It ihas been very hard to find as not a usual side effect.  But is a side effect.

is there a possibility of losin weight on simvastin

I have been taking Simvastin for a couple of months.  It was recommended that I take this tablet before going to bed.  I have been awaking up after three or four hours with a stomach ache.  This is not cramps, it just feels as if my stomach is burning.  Could this be due to the Simvastin?
