Solpadeine

i was addictied to solpadeine since i was eighteen and taking 8 a day till 4 months ago im 31 know i have given my self a stomach ulcer from it and since i went through severe headaches when i stopped but even know im still not well my ulcer has got worse just and iam expericing stomach ache when i eat is this a side effect when stopping

Just wondering could it cause misscarriage? Have 3 kids trying for a girl . Now i see blood even though i tested pregnant a couple of months back .

i am 18 and i take 6 to 8 tables of solpadeine once per month for the period pain...is this dose can cause any problems?plz reply

i i currently taking 2 tablets per day for my headache and i have been feeling that my heart is racing and it is beating really fast which actually hurts. might solpadeine be causing this?

I have been addicted to solpadeine for years and have taken 8 per day. My blood pressure is through the roof and the doc is finding it difficult to get it under control. I have been working within a drug and alcohol addiction team and all of the codeine addicts are on suboxone to get off it, which is also used for heroine addicts. It has made me wake up and do something about it. Using solpadeine has blocked my sinuses and compacted my bowel for years.....as well as cause havoc with my blood pressure. I am slowly decreasing my intake and hope to stop altogther as soon as is safe to do so. For pain relief I would suggest paracetamol and ibubrfan together. At least they aren't addictive. We must address this addiction and get off these tablets, they are causing havoc in our bodies. Bella.

hi, im kath. and im 15. and i 'got' some solpadeine pills/tablets. and i was wondering. yenno the powder inside them? is it bad if you sniff it? can you kill your self from an overdose?

i took an overdose of solpadeine (capsules) 2 nights ago, went into hospital 3 hours after taking them as i vomited, felt really weak and drained. when i went in they took my blood and told me that i was just under the 10mg ingestion which meant i didnt need to have an IV, so i was sent home. but today ive had excruciating back pain, lower back pain which is spread throughout my lower back, but particularly bad on my right side... no stomach pain but internal pain at the back (where im guessing my kidneys are) but its so bad i can barely move should i go back in to the hospital to get it checked out? they never told me i would have any side effects when i went home and im afraid to take more painkillers... please respond asap thank you.

Im still of them its the 1st of nov '2010, if i can do it anyone can. I still miss the habit of having them but im glad i dont relie on them anymore...

I lowered my dose until three days ago, im off them now 3 days. Feel like shite pain in my head all day today, have cramps all day. But this time im realy going to stay away from that. Im sure after about 5-6 days i'll start feeling better

There's no "coming off" Solpadeine "safely" since the Codein dosage is low and has little chance of getting you addicted if you used it as mentioned in the instructions. I can advise you to take less and less. Say you're taking 4 tablet a day. Today, take 4. Tomorrow, take 3 and a half for a couple of days. Then 3, then 2.5, then 2, then 1, then 1 on one day, none on the next, one on the next. Then half on a day, none the next, half the next. Then stop.

It would help if you guys stated if you're taking Plus or Max. I think you all know that both of those medications contain Codeine. Codeine is also known as 3 Methyl Morphine. About 10% of Codeine gets transformed to Morphine in vivo (inside your body). That is the reason some of you appear to be addicted, especially the ones who exceed the recommended dose, and do not discontinue Solpadeine after a period of 3 days. Although Codeine isn't THAT addictive, your addiction (jojo) may stem from what I have mentioned (taking it for too long/exceeding the recommended dose). As for anne, I assure you that you are, to a certain degree, addicted. You should NOT be afraid to seek medical attention. I implore you to do that. Go to a nearby emergency center or clinic, tell them about your habit, what you've done, and seek help immediately. You know that Solpadeine contains Paracetamol, and taking more than the recommended dose of Paracetamol (also known as Acetaminophen) carries a high risk of liver damage. Acetaminophen liver damage has the highest percentage of liver damage in America. Terry54, although this isn't my field by any means, I do not believe Solpadeine can cause nerve damage that severe. Anyway, didn't you say that your condition is heriditary? Regardless, seek help lest I be wrong, and because I think your case requires immediate attention.

Everyone, I will reiterate. Frequent abuse of Acetaminophen, and Codeine can cause serious problems, one of which is dependance and seeking harder drugs (since Codeine is an opiate, you would seek Morphine, Methadone, Heroin..etc. I implore you to seek help before reaching this ungodly state). Liver damage is another absolute concern (Acetaminophen). This is just the tip of the iceberg, especially since Codein abuse is a real reason for concern. Please take what I said with some amount of seriousness. Regards.

Ive being taken solpadeine for 4 yrs now cant get off them. Now in ireland u cant get them over the counter. Im at a loss of what to do. I will run out tomorrow.  Help

i have been taking solpadiene for about 25 years on a daily basis, sometimes more than the maximum dose. i went to my gp on a couple of occasions and said i thought that i was addicted. He said i couldn't be addicted as people only get addicted to something which gives them a high, i got no help and am still taking it. i went through a bad time about a week ago and took way too many and am feeling quite ill but am too afraid to go to seek advice

i no the story strung out about 3 years ,i no alot of people to ,my ex .sisters.me boss.i gave a bloke 2 solpha in work 3 weeks ago he buys 24 pack a day,i no a woman in a pub that sells 3 packs of 24  for a tenner mad what ,it needs to be taken of the shelf.its a good and bad drug.i gave up smoking and started taken solpha.friend of mine she went cold turkey of solpha ,she didnt sleep for 3 days and was very dizzy ,u have 2 cut down bit by bit i heard thats the way .or u can ask ure doc thats wat im doing tomorow have an appointment,the coidin is the only thing addictive in solpha u find that in heroin,good look,there going to have to do something soon about this.some cemists dont put on show and most off them are dead against selling it.good look  getting off it,hope all goes well.PS.its all in the head aswell,theres going to be a new type of junky out there a SOPHA JUNKY u heard it hear first 

I have benn taking solpadeine for many years for headaches, back pain and as a crutch. I have been treated for high blood pressure with irsbesarten, atenalol and bendroflumazide. I also take a statin for high cholesterol. Family history and early death of mother from hearth desease. I have been diagnosed with hereditary spastic paraparesis with no living relatives to study for this problem I am concerned my use of solpadeine over many years has damaged my nerves in my back and caused this problem. Any info on this would be really great. 

i felt slugish but this wonder drug really brought me back from the brink, the only problem is im know an addict my name is iekat

Got pain relief, I will monitor situation closer, I am taking cardura and emcor for blood pressure. I forgot to ask locum doctor if I should be taking solpadeine. He prescribed them for me even though he seen my list of medicines

felt very cold ns dizzy abt 1hr after taken them had the shakes

I take two solapdeine each night and don't exceed this. i do not have side effects and find it is the only painkiller that doesn't give me a bad stomach and helps relax my arthritic pain and get some sleep.  I am presuming this is safe use?

solpadeine... im pretty much addicted and want to kick it... but im pretty dependant... i get daily headaches... lack of sex drive, slightly blurred vision , stomach pains and i hardly eat as i dont feel hungry after takin it.... i need help
