Sprycel

I have been on sprycel for 2 1/2 years now. When I first began, I was started on 100 mg/day and had large sores in my hair and on my face. My oncologist reduced my dose to 70mgs/day and things improved substantially. I still have sores but they are now mostly in my hair and small ones on my face.

I have started noticing other events such as blood pressure issues and some blood sugar spikes. Whether this is sprycel or age has yet to be determined.

Ive been on sprycel 2.5 years and have had pimple/boils similar to what you are describing.  They started on my calves 2 years ago and they have gotten worse and more frequent, showing up on my face too, and maybe the top of the inside of my throat today. That is why I searched the web to see if it might be a side effect.  Sounds like it is!

I've been on Sprycel for about 3 years.  In the past 6 months I have been getting boils or pimples in the scalp as well as on the face.  They are very painful and feel like thay are associated with nerve endings.  Has anyone else seen similar problems while on Sprycel?

When I was diagnosed with CML I was put on Gleevec but it reacted with my BP medication(Lisonpril). I ended up in the hospital with multiple problems including muscle spasms and my kidneys trying to shut down. They changed me over to Sprycel. I am currently taking 100mg every other night. The doctor wants me to take 100 mg every day but I am afraid that I will have another reaction. What is the standard dosage for this medication?

Try Acupuncture, and if that does not remove your bone pain and lung pain
then tell your doctor you are not willing to stay on Sprycel.  It can be a matter
of life or death!

I am 71 years old, and diagnosed with CML Nov. 2008. I was put on Gleevec immediately. I had severe side effects related to major muscle cramps, fliud buildup around eyes, chest area, even when taking a diaretic. I have been taking Sprycel 2 - 50 mg. tablets for 6 months. Fluid around eyes went away, muscle cramps and skeletal pain almost totally went away, but slowly became a problem. I feel like at the present time I have arthritis, as muscles hurt all over my body. I get extremely tired, and hurt  just getting out of bed, but when I am up for awhile, I am able to tolerate aches and pain. I tried magnesium and calcium tablets, and coenzyme 10 but they didn't work. I am presently taking a diaretic. Is there any fix for this terrible muscle pain?
