Stilnox

Been taking stilnox for 7 years - half 10mg tab. Works perfectly, get around 4-5 hours straight sleep intermittent after that. No obvious side effects except can't get to sleep without it. Biggest problem is getting prescriptions every month from doctor. I am 61 and working full time - doesn't affect my work (as far as I know). Trouble is -do I have to keep taking for the rest of my life? Does it permanently affect your ability to fall asleep naturally?

For 5 years now I am taking 1 stilnox and lately for the past 1 year I have added 1 Tavor (lorazepam). I will be sixty in December. Some days and moments I tend to forget something very simple but the memories does come back after a while or a day later. Can someone tell me will I get demenz from taking stilnox and tavor?<b>Describe Your Stilnox Experience Here:</b>

i took one pill last night aroud 10 pm , and it relaxes me. i came as usual to work this morning and within one hour i started to feel down , and started to cry !!!! i am not feeling good at all,,in a moment if feel happy , in another i feel to cry ! what should i do ? and i really have insomnia ! i need advise !

I have been talking stilnox occasionally for around 12 years (I'm 37) but some times I really can't sleep without it. I've experienced almost all the allucination stuff described bellow and even worse, combination with alcohol within a certain time window is horrible, recommend to wait more than 24 hrs! to give an example in one of my everyday party trips I use to fall into a paralized state when you think you are awake with your eyes open but cannot move a finger and see people all around with dark faces, feel them lay in the bed beside you and one time I felt even a bite from a dog in one hand...really freaky, I've never taken any type drugs just in case. From my experience the once taken you have to go to bed within a few minutes, turn everything off and get ready to go!

I had 2 stilnox tablets to try and go to sleep. Within about 20 minutes I started hallucinating, seeing mountains and people surrounding me for hours. Luckily my partner was there because it was one scary experience!

I do loads of sleep walking with these sleeping tabs, thinking people were stealing from my house and thinking someone was behind me all the time when clearly there wasnt. My parents said it was a funny but scary experience entertaining them the whole night. Also the next day of taking them yre whole body feels like it gets loads of micro shocks, not cool.

I don't have words to explain the itchiness I have developed in my entire body as well as the horrible nauseas. I just called my Dr. and told me to stop it right away because ir's an allergic reaction. WATCH OUT!

After I had my surgery, I was having hard time to sleep. My doc prescribed me 12.5 mg Stilnox. On the first night of the pill, I had only 1 pill before I went to bed and my spouse told me I had been talking nonsense the whole nite and he couldn't even encrypt what I could have said. On the subsequent nights, I kept waking up (almost every hour) in the middle of the night & feeling very restless. The next morning when I got up, I felt very dizzy + nauseous like I haven't slept for days. I thought it was the post surgery effects, but little did I know, it's the PILLs!!!! I've taken numerous sleeping pills like Xanax before, but this one is definitely the WORST of all!

Yesterday I took 1pill after 20 min I called up my friend and I talked about an hour and next day I didn't remember anything

After taking only 2 pills last night to fall asleep:  I just could'nt wake up very heavy feeling.  All morning dizzy and disorientated.  My eyes feels very much irritated as well.  Really this product is bad and I never want to feel like this again

i used to love to takin stilnox mostly when i used to see stuff once i saw these wee gremlins coming out from a whole in the wall the where so cute but also the can be deadly as i was gonna jump of a roof!!!!!!!!!!!to sky dive

I'm taking stilnoxs for the last 5 years just before bed (10mg 1/2 tab) and its works very good on me,could sleep up to 10-12 hours.Once I'm tryed to give up....unfortunatly could not sleep at all
Is any advise how to give up on these tabs ?

I have a friend who also takes Stilnox during the day. What is the side effects on you?  How many do you take during day time?

Hey Monica, Just posted a message about my experience and scrolled down and saw your post. Stay with the Lexapro and Stilnox, but get rid of the Xanax. They're evil, will make you feel good on the day but the next day's shit. Very addictive and the Dr's need to be stopped from handing them out like lollies. Be strong, break them in half instead of a full one for a week or so, then cut it down to a qtr and so on until you don't need them. Keep doing the things that make you anxious, and you'll be right after a while. Cheers. Mark

I have been on Stilnox for about 9 years now. 51 year old.
I had a hip replacement 24 months ago and was taking Oxycontin and Oxycodine for the 5 months before the op and about 5 months after. Totally addicted to it. I gave up smoking 3 years ago, booze 14 months ago, had 2 punch ups in 12 months-which is really out of character. Had to take Xanax when getting off the Oxy's, which are great when you take them but shit the next day. Still take them. Have now progressed to Lexapro for depression. In the last 24 months I have gotten married for the 3rd time, had IVF, got married, wife had a baby, torn both rotar cuffs, had hip replacement, the 2 fights, tore the bicep off shoulder on one arm, been in court once to sue for damages done to a rental property by a tenant, father had a heart attack, then a knee replacement, my firm was acquired by a competitor which I came through Ok, then we acquired another larger firm which of course puts my position in doubt, have a tax problem, have renovated one house and am just about to start another reno which for the last 4 months my wife has been in control of because she demanded to be, but we're still waiting on a quote-I've now taken over as she is giving me the shits.My wife is Chinese (I'm an Aussie) and her parents have been over here living in one of our properties rent free for the last 12 months-no income from this! I don't speak Mandarin and they don't speak English, so it's impossible to tell them what I put up with. They're good people, but my wife runs to them and gives them her version of events when the shit hits the fan with us. My 2 other children are 29 & 27, I have an 8 month old granddaughter. Just had a an argument with my wife over the reno, just opened my first bottle in 14 months (taste s good, but know I'm doing the wrong thing), just logged on and Googled 'Suicide, Stilnox, Xanax, Lexapro' and came up with this forum. Friend, you will end like Michael Jackson like this. I also have a chronic Insmonia for almost 4 years now. But never take tables everyday. I Stilnox doesn't work in me

you are lucky you could sleep. I took once 25 mg and slept maximum 1 hour

I stopped drinking alcohol since 3 weeks. Now have sleeping problems again. cannot get into sleep, then sleep 1 hour or 2 and wake up again. Took several other medication till my Doctor gave me Stilnox 10 mg, 1/2 tablet. I could not sleep at all, the whole night. Next night, I took 1 1/2 tablet, could sleep maybe just 1 hour or less. This sleeping aid does not work in me. Switched back to much cheaper meds and they work.

I've been having insomnia for 4months now.  I took stillnox for the first time yesterday.  1 tablet of 12.5mg.  I slept for 20hours.  Woke up feeling extremely groggy with swollen eyes.  Anyone has same experience?

i took stilnox for 4 years to now ; and i became addicted to it , i take about 20 tablets at day time,i hope not anyone have this addiction, thank you 

I have 12.5 mg and was thinking of a higher one, but not sure, they where prescribed to me when i couldnt sleep i lost my mother last year along with my Pa in the following month, and now tonight i just lost my cat he was ran over, so i couldnt sleep now, i took my tablate its working abit but just so sad and depressed atm, sorry for hijacking your thread. it feels like it is doing its job, but how much more can some1 go threw to get some thing to take all the paint away.

i m taking stilnot for 4 months but not continueisly.  it make me to sleep peacefully.but if incase my friends disturbed me by that time ,i will be sleepy but cant concentrate so for that i will take xanax together.its really help...i m also taking lexapro n rivotral at night...its really help me ..i m into psycatric medication for almost a year plus ,can say that i saw lot of changes...

abnormal dreams!!!!

i have been taking stillnox for about two years now, 5 mg.  i get 5-6 hours sleep with this dosage, continuous sleep. before i began taking stillnox i slept 2 to 4 hours of broken disturbed sleep. i am 80 yearsold, and the prescribed dosage is 5mg. if i take 10mg i worry that there is a chance of some degree of sonambulism. i know that taking 10 mg would mean up to 8 hours of sleep, but i do not want to take the chance of possible side effects that are negative.

Marcus, tell me more about your experiences with Stilnox. How much did you take a night?.

i have been using stilnox the last 7 years daily. i have never expirienced any abnormality. at times i stop and that one nite i would have problem sleeping but the following days and months i sleep well, without stilnox i would have comitted suicide due to divorce, job loss. i suffered hell depression. up to now i take stilnox 3 or 4 mg [i break the tab in 3-4] and that does the trick.

I have insomnia and I took stilnox for more than a week and it was changed for clonazepam 1mg due I couldn't get full sleep. I am still taking clonazepam but my problem is that I think I am pregnant. Really I did not plan that and now I am worry how much I have been afected the baby that is growing. I am maybe 1 month and the half. who can explain to me that

would have no idea as i believe they have a chemical component that does not allow you to over the dose you should be taking dont quote me on that just a rumour from a couple of doctors

i sometimes feel they are a gift from god but then find that other times they can drop u before u can say "hey i am tired" at this stage they r my night cap just to help me have a decent sleep and keep me sane the next day.

I take Stilnox and it assists greatly with my seve insomnia. Unfortunately i suffer from migraines and have had enough. I am just curious about the size of effects stilnox has on people. Can some tell me ho many stilnox would one need to take to drift to sleep and never wake up ??? some say its as little as 300mg, Is that correct ?? seems too less ??

Taken it for the last 2 years and it made a lot of difference with my sleep.  I'm menopausing and had trouble sleeping.  Stilnox provides me my required sleep which helps me go to work the next day.  By the way, stilnox also made my hot flushes go away.

have been on dormizol (same as stilnox) for 4 yrs now and have not had any probs. only take about 2-3 times per week 5mg. Past 2-3 mths have broken out in rash - servere burn like marks on eyes/neck & other body parts. Hands so sore cant fold out palm straight and head weeps badly then crusts up and extremely itchy. Agitated, thinking not so clear and memory loss.  Talk about hitting a brick wall! 

Have been on Stilnox 10mg for only 3 nights, only sleep for 3 hours, wake up feeling dreadful with a fuzzy head, pains behind the eyes and a headache, and completely listless, this seems to get worse during the afternoon and evening until I take another tablet at night, need to resolve the situation as I feel dreadful

Find Stilnox very quick acting, 5-10 min, but also very short lived. Always wake 2hrs later, bright and sleepless.

I take stilnox in very small doses, 1/4 tablet. I get to sleep quickly by using it. I use it maybe once a week. If I ever use it for three days in a row or more, I start to get sleepy during the day and may get a headache. 1/4 tablet puts me to sleep for 2-3 hours with no or very little drowsyness in the morning which is the problem with all other sleeping tablets for me. I have taken it after alchohol and there was no difference. I have never gone for a drive without knowing it or eaten the curtains or anything. My husband would have told me about anything unusual.

I have been using Stilnox since I was 14yrs old, it was very effective, but it also made me "high" in a way.  I soonly became addicted to this "high", and that's how I tried weed for the first time because I enjoyed the high from Stilnox so much.

After battling with acute insomnia for about 3 months, my GP prescribed Trimipramine 25mg. This still didn't get me much sleep, so he prescribed Purata 30mg. Better, but still not good enough, so I took one of each every night. This gave me around 3 hours of sleep. I then started taking 2 Puratas each night and if battling to sleep, I then added the Trimipramine.

After having bumped into my old GP, he diagnosed me with chronic candida and gave me Stilnox 12.5mg to help me sleep. He told me to stop the others, but the Stilnox had very little effect on me, so I added a Trimipramine to the nightly dosage of Stilnox.

After 2 weeks of Stilnox, I'm now getting about 5 hours sleep. None of these things seem strong enough for me! I stilloften lie awake for hours!

My Stillnox experience has been extreme. One pill of Stillnox gets you to hallucinate BIG time. After 15 minutes of taking a pill the walls start to look like there is water running down from them. If you go and touch the wall it's as if you are touching glass watching the water flow behind the glass. Once I saw an angel. She was transparent with a myriad of colors flowing though her like energy. She smiled and played with my hair. I’ve gotten so addicted to this drug that I have seen several doctors. Not to cure my addiction, but to get more prescriptions for more Stillnox at different pharmacies (4 of them in total). Iv’e been clean for almost a year now due to that the drug almost killed me. Once I took 11 pills. I basically blead from all the holes in my body (Ok maybe not all holes but from my nose, ears and thought). The thing about Stillnox is that you take a pill and the you trip, while you are in a state of less consciousness you’ll have less resistance to your inhibitions. Thus more and more Stillnox makes it’s way down your thought. Once I climbed into my car and drove with my feet, thinking that all people should drive like this due to the fact that it is a lot more comfortable. What if I got into an accident… Stillnox is addictive because if you don’t take it you won’t fall asleep. Thus making you dependant. I’ve never taken drugs before, but Stillnox was prescribed to me by my doctor thus I trusted it. I’ve cured my insomnia by exercise and proper diet. Kind regards. Markus.    

I have been taking stilnox for 3 nights the side affects are very bad i spent all of last night hallucinating and vomitting i am lucky to be  alive and i will not be taking stilnox again

Stopped sleeping 4 years ago .
Been on stilnox 4 years ,1 tablet 3 hours sleep 2 = 6+
Wake up very alert . Off stilnox 2 nights no sleep then 3 hours sleep for next month.
No side effects from list.

I have been on Stilnox for about 3 weeks - I am wondering if it is responsible for my listlessness or slightly more buzzing in my ears -

I have suffered with depression about 10 years ago and I am feeling a similar feeling - but I have just returned from overseas and I cannot see a reason - before I had just recovered from cancer and moved house - which is enough to make anyone depressed

After using prescribed dose of Stilnox for a few nights, cannot drop off to sleep on nights I don't take it! So currently taking it every night which is definitely not recommended.

I have taken Stilnox for over 8 years and recently have devloped a a rach all over my bodi. I've been addicted to it for nearl 10 years. The rash looks like bites all over from my body..... has any one else had this?
