• Suboxone helped me get rid…

Suboxone helped me get rid of the opiate cravings. I stopped using it for awhile, and about three weeks later decided to start up with it again. I had gotten used to aproximately 12-16 mgs per day, but when I took it again, I took a full dose (8mg), it made me so sick that I vomitted all day. Why would I get sick now, when I had no trouble with it before?

• My side effects are swelling…

My side effects are swelling hands feet and legs anxiety.. Also having itching really bad and everywhere I itch I swell ridiculously... Also I wake with terrible aches and pains in my whole body before I take my suboxone.

• I am having the same symptoms…

I am having the same symptoms and my doctor put me on a diuretic and it made it go away but sometimes it comes back horrible itching and major sweeping of my feet ankles and legs... I am glad to know I'm not the only one. My doctor said I was eating to much salt well I know he is wrong my diet is fine I know it's the suboxone. It's been 4 months and still having swelling even with the medication for swellig.. But the itching also happened and the swelling in my hands. I can't stand it. What r u doing about it now?

• Dull headache and pulse rate…

Dull headache and pulse rate is around 50 instead of 65. Otherwise not to bad,but I am early in treatment

• Here are some pictures of…

Here are some pictures of what Suboxone did to my legs. You'll notice the normal pictures. I was so scared and had know idea what was happening. I woke up like that.

I JUST HOPE POSTING THIS INFORMATION WILL HELP OTHERS. YOU'RE NOT ALONE!

• I have experienced many side…

I have experienced many side effects that my doctor said had nothing to do with suboxone.I've been taking it for 5 months. I was at 16 mg and my doctor prescribed me 16mg per day the last time I seen him with many refills. I shouldn't need to see the doctor for at least 2 months. He wants me to try to cut down to 12mg (one and a half pills).I have had very horrible side affects from this drug including the following....severe sweating, nightmares, severe anxiety and severe panic attacks, constipation, weight gain 50 lbs, severe Edema in the legs and abdomen ( not sure about my lungs) irritability, pain in legs mostly at nigh ( I can barely get out of bed in the morning and have to take my suboxone and pain relievers before I can get up) I've had Thyroid problems and am on medication for it, no sex drive,I already had high blood pressure but I had to change my meds because it got worse. Probably every bad side effect you can have. You are probably asking ...why don't you get off? In one month I've went down 2mg per time, when I felt like I could and am at 6 mg per day. I need to find out the best way to taper off. what to do for how long how much at a time and how long until the next mg change. I read a lot about many people had problems when it came to the point to get off 2mg. That it's very hard and the whole mind thing about being scared that you might relapse. Wit suboxone I know I will have to drop for the doc and that the sub will block the high I want so there's no point in taking other opiates. But if I'm off it I can get high of them. Any words of advise?

• i was on suboxone for a 1yr…

i was on suboxone for a 1yr and 8 mos. i was only taking about 1 mg a day. i had 5-6 pain pill a day adiction my friend told me about subs i think i didnt taper right i stopped completely in April i was so sick and had to go to work it is now Nov. and my Legs burn and my arms and i get a tingling sentation thru my whole body and chills, my head feels like head zaps and tingle. and pins and needles thru my whole body this wont stop. i have to work so i went to the dr. he said it cant be in withdrawal still so he prescribed a couple a vicodine a day and xanax and paxil but the paxil makes me sick has anybody went thru this i need help i cant live like this

• they can perscribe anything…

they can perscribe anything they would usually give for pain. they dont like to perscribe to suboxone patients because they tend to abuse but if your pain is bad enough you should be pushy with them. I know they say you will go into withdrawls takin opioids but most people do not, it is actually quite rare, althogh the naloxone in the suboxone will make it easier to overdose so take pain killers as perscribed and you should be fine.

• I have been having kidney…

I have been having kidney trouble, glomerulonephritis to be specific, it was an effect from remicade infusions but i am worried the suboxone will make it worse. i asked my kidney doctor who told me to ask the suboxone doctor who sent me to samsha.org and that web page wont load. if anyone knows about suboxone eefects on the kidneys let me know.
IN RESPONSE TO 'YOURS TRULY' it is normal on suboxone to have trouble urinating but as for the pain on one side of your head you should seriously see a specialist and ask them to check you for brain tumors or bells palsy. although with bells palsy the side of the face you are having pain on tends to go limp and it would look like you had a stroke (common in lyme disease patients) but in rare cases the patient has pain but no loss of muscle control. If the pain comes on severly and all of a sudden and always on the same side of your face chechinkg for brain tumors is very important.

• Ok so basically I've been…

Ok so basically I've been taking suboxone about 3 months and it has helped me a lot but I started getting very bad migraines on the left side of my head and now the left side of my face my jaw bone is killing me I can barely open my mouth I asked my regular doctor about the jaw pain and she said its tmj but in wondering if it may have to do with suboxone? Also I haven't gotten a period since (and no I'm not pregnant) as well as can barely ever use the bathroom or it is difficult too. Kind of gross but need some advice? Thank you

• what happens if you get hurt…

what happens if you get hurt badly. your on 2 strips per day. and you need more to control your pain? what can your Dr. prescribe? What then ????

• I had extreme swelling to…

I had extreme swelling to my legs and abdomen. Not just a weight gain issue because it was pitting pedal edema up to mid thigh. And I don't get how this drug is supposed to help with withdrawal because that little taste of a buzz just kept me jonesing for more. I was only on for 3 months. started at 6 mg weaned to 4 mg which I split foram and pm and then I just said no more. I had 6 months of clean time before I had 2 surgeries and then I got percocet and methadone for 6 months. And after those heavy duty meds my recovery team recommended suboxone. Sucked to withdraw again but I am done! And 8 days later no swelling and no jonesing.

• yea it will but what are…

• does it mean my mild acne…

does it mean my mild acne that i'm starting to get could be from suboxone?

• I am taking Suboxone and…

I am taking Suboxone and have had constipation, fatigue and very bad chills and sweats at night. Even during the day, I sometimes feel like I am hot and cold at the same time. I am wondering though, if this is Menopause? The fatigue is so extreme that I really cannot keep my eyes open. Even if I close them for just a few seconds, I have to close them! THat was my last complaint to DR about 2 weeks ago. I am tring to take smaller doses, more frequently. I currently am taking 2mg/dayand that is broken into 4-5 doses.
Anybody who uses the tablet and doesn't like it for any reason, go to the film. It is easy and I actaully like the taste.

• sick as hell .. i will never…

sick as hell .. i will never take another pill again! i just want off of everything!

• This is in addition to the…

This is in addition to the previous post.

It looks like the makers of the drug are saying that Suboxone does NOT cause the physical inability to urinate (urinary retention) but instead somehow causes "paruresis" which is only a psychological fear that others may be hearing you urinate and makes you unable to go out of fear. The Wikipedia "definition" of paruresis actually mentions Suboxone for a full paragraph.

OK, that's crazy. I don't care who hears me pee, especially when I've just finished vomiting. And IF I was able to start urinating, I was lucky to keep it going at all. It was weak or just stopped altogether.

If Heather had to go to the hospital to be catheterized because she was unable to urinate after starting suboxone, then there must be others out there with similar experiences. This is a serious physical side effect for some patients and needs to be addressed.

• I started taking Suboxone…

I started taking Suboxone five days ago to help me overcome a dependency to opiates. I am taking half a strip four times per day - that's 4mg bup./1mg nal. four times per day.
I am having the same problem as Heather is. I started taking Suboxone four days ago. On the first day I was extremely nauseous, dizzy and tired. I had difficulty walking, standing or keeping food or liquids down. I also found it a little difficult to urinate. By the second day the withdrawal from Opiates and the side effects of Suboxone were in full force. I was vomiting, weak, dizzy, shaky, and found it almost impossible to urinate. I was drinking plenty of fluids. In fact I really needed to urinate but found it almost impossible to do so. I would spend twenty to thirty minutes in the bathroom until I finally gave up. By the evening of the second day I was able to urinate just enough to hold me off until day three. By day three I was feeling much better. I fell asleep only twice during the day and, though it wasn't easy, I was able to urinate ok. Day four felt like a relapse. It was not as bad as day two but much worse than day three. Still tired, nauseous, but not enough to be throwing up. I was able to keep some small food down. But, again, found it very difficult to urinate if not impossible. By the evening of day four I was able to urinate again. It is now day five and I am a little nauseous but not bad. Tired and dizzy but manageable. When urinating, I have difficulty starting, but usually can empty my bladder.

Though I am not a doctor and it is not in the literature on the drug, Suboxone does appear to have the rare side effect of urinary retention. This should be looked into as the drug has been out at least seven or eight years.

• Hi! I've been struggling…

Hi!
I've been struggling for nearly 10 yrs. with both Heroin & Methadone. Lately, I've been getting on the Suboxone, being miserable for 2-3 full days, then relapsing... I've heard from many ppl. that Suboxone was their "Savior" & a Miracle Drug, but when I take it, it just seems to change my symptoms to different but equally miserable symptoms..
I've done everything! Changed my doses from alot to just a sliver a day due to other ppl. telling me "less is more" or that I must be feeling so bad because I took too little, but the misery is the same: EXTREME LETHARGY, DIZZINESS, Bad Leg Bone/Muscle Aches, Insomnia, Not being able to eat, Constant sweating all over, headaches, pain in&behind my eyes, lower back pain, general acute feeling of being uncomfortable&restless.Coughing, sneezing excessively, etc, etc.
The methadone is definately out of my system by now- it's been over 2 months, so I doubt this is the reason. I wait a full 24hrs. before taking any of the Sub.& make sure I'm in complete withdrawls so I don't get precipitated withdrawls..It seems to work so good for most ppl. & I'm so frustrated& ready to give up& go back on methadone!
Can anyone give me any advice? I dont intend to make the sub. a maintenence drug..just wanna use long enough to get off the H & wean off the sub. asap, I dont wanna be addicted to that, too!
Thanks,
S.S.

I'm so scared of getting off of suboxone that I'm becoming depressed. I know it helped me at first, but now it seems that its just another crutch. I'm having terrible knee pain as well in my feet this stuff is stronger then the Doic tells you. Be afraid of this stuff.

• after taking hydrocodone…

after taking hydrocodone for 8 years using suboxone at decreasing levels daily for 8 days i am clean of hydrocodone. but, now i need to rid my body of the suboxone. not easy..... taking lazrazapam and valium but after 4 days still having withdrawal symptions, this is torture. thinking of giving up.

• I was addicted to opiates…

I was addicted to opiates for 3 years. I've been clean for two weeks. That first week was horrible. I started taking suboxone 3 days into withdrawal. The first 3 days of withdrawal were the worst days of my life. Anyways, the suboxone helped so much and I would recomend it to people getting off opiods but I do wanna say I'm getting off this stuff tomorrow because I can feel it becoming a dependancy and it is altering my mood. This is why I quit opiods... I wanna be free and have that monkey off my back. Eventually you will have to be pill-free anyways. Withdrawal is really scary.

i have gained so much weight and CANNOT lose it no matter how hard i try. i am currently trying to wean off sub. (i am down to 1/2 of a 2 mg. film). i heard detox is bad no matter how low you wean down to.

• Suboxone has been good for…

Suboxone has been good for me overall, but i've been getting really nauseous everyday now. It didn't do that to me at first. I used to take the tablets ansd now take the film. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. It could be my Vyvanse that is making me sick. I'm just sooo sick of feeling like crap everyday that i'm about ready to quit taking it! I don't wanna get up in the mornings anymore either and just feel stuck in one place! I used to wake up in the morning feeling great in general and now it seems like I NEVER wake up feeling good or full of energy. I've been taking both drugs for about 5 months. Does anyone know anything or have any suggestions?

i used oxycontin for 2 years and went to a rehab center for a week they placed me on suboxne and i have been on it for 3 years and 4 months and have never relapsed once it has workedwonderful for me in the sense of not haveing the urge to use. on the other hand the prolonged use has caused mood change it has made my temper alot worse it took about 2 years before it affected my mood but i honesty would suggest it works best if you jus use it to get clean initially bc any time after that does make you more likley to become phyically dependent. good luck an remeber take it one day at a time

• Has anyone experienced knee…

Has anyone experienced knee pain that lasts all day?

I spoke with my doctor and he doesn't seem to think the Subxone is causing the knee pain. I basically asked him: "I never had issues prior to using the suboxone or opiates so what is it that is causing it?" He is at a loss and has no clue why it would be causing this.

Anyone? LOL

• Fascinating. I just read…

Fascinating. I just read the entire Wiki on the substance. I say what the Hell. You may as well give it a shot. Just find a safe place and loving partner to observe you. It has a HUGE, success rate and actually work extremly well in almost all studies.

The fact that the FDA bans it would make me want to use it more. It actually works in other words!

Yes. I too am on Subxone and am scared to quit it. Good luck!

• Everyday when I take my suboxone…

Everyday when I take my suboxone I get an erection that lasts for up to 8 hours. Is this normal? It's embarrassing and quite frankly it becomes quite painful after a couple hours.

• I have been on Subutex for…

I have been on Subutex for 2 years and in the beginning it was a wonder drug. I was able to bridge the gap between active opiate addiction and a normal productive life. Over the last six months things have been getting progressively worse. I have become depressed, moody and am feeling hopeless. Subutex has me in it's grips and I feel like it's the same dynamic as when I was addicted to opiates. If the doctor isn't around or the pharmacy is out of stock I go into panic.

Does anyone know how to detox yourself off of this medication? My doctor doesn't have much experience in detoxing people off of Subutex/ Suboxone. His titration schedule is reduce you dose by 2mg/ week until your off. I have tried that several times and have gotten down to .5mg/ day and could not get totally off.

I have been investigating Ibogaine as a possible method of getting through the protracted withdrawal in a more reasonable period of time. Has anyone tried Ibogaine for Subutex / Suboxone addiction?

• Been on Sub for about 2 years.…

Been on Sub for about 2 years. It definently helps to get out of withdrawl but as people have said, it should not be a long term medication. I have experienced everything from Central Sleep Apnea, depression, anxiety and my physical activities have taken a back seat. I want to isolate myself and sometimes spend my off days never leaving the house. That's not right. I have tapered down to 2MG a day and plan to go completely off by my 40th next september but until then all of those problems listed above are happening. Like I said, not a long term med. Docs tell you this for the $$$. Good luck all and hopefully one day we can all be clean and free of all the BS this med and other meds cloud our lives with.

• I am 61 years old and had…

I am 61 years old and had been clean since the late 70s. I used heroin in the 70s. I started using pill form opiates namely methadone, and MS Contin in 2004. Then in September of 2010 I got enrolled in a Suboxone program. I take 8mg/day, and it does "work". But occasionally feelings of extreme anger & anxiety comes over me, and I feel like screaming and ripping walls apart. But it only lasts one to five minutes. I am confident that I will not go back to more traditional opiates as long as I am on the program. But I really detest those anger/anxiety "flashes".

• I was off suboxone for approxima…

I was off suboxone for approximately a year (my migraines had all but tapered off). Recently, they became severe again and I refilled the medication. I've taken it two days in a row: The first day, I felt very nauseas and ran to the bathroom to puke. Nothing came up and the urge to puke went away. Last night I slept real hard and did not wake up today until 2:28pm! I NEVER sleep that hard or that long. My entire body was aching. (I forgot to mention that I had serious burning back pain all day yesterday). My back and entire body ache now but the back pain is now dull.

Is this coming from the suboxone? My dosage is 2MG-0.5, under the tongue twice a day. However, I only take 1/2 a pill and only at the onset of a migraine. The last two days I had a migraine but I only took a total of 1 pill per day.

Are these side effects from the onset of beginning the medication again after a year?

Somebody, please respond!!! Thank you!

• I have been experiencing…

I have been experiencing the same side affects that you stated as well. I also feel like I want to isolate myself from everyone. Suboxone has helped but sometimes I feel like I'm getting high off of it bc nothing makes sense. I wish it would all go away and I could be back to the person I was before. I absolutely hate the way it makes me feel, but at least I'm not using anymore. I have been on suboxone for about 6 weeks I should be able to slowly take myself off of it by now. Does anyone know what the withdrawal will be like?

• I don't care what a doctor…

I don't care what a doctor says ..if your on this drug for any more than 6 weeks it is not being prescribed properly ..it should be used as a taper from full agonists ..NOT as a maintenence drug like methadone..after 6 weeks you should be in some type of support group like NA or something of that nature ..also you should never need anymore than 8mgs a day , even thats too much, I was taking 400mgs of oxycontin per day and during my induction to suboxone I was stable at 3mg . This is a powerfull medication and doctors overprescribe it evry day.

• The suboxone works great…

The suboxone works great for the physical withdrawals...however I sometimes feel a little "off" like im living in an altered sense of reality ..its difficult to explain. Overall it does stop the physical pain , but not the mental anguish . I have also been very angry all the time since I have started taking it.

• Just started taking Suboxone…

Just started taking Suboxone whole body itchy is this normal

• 3 days off and i'm breakdown…

3 days off and i'm breakdown the 2mg will i still have withdraw

• i hear you dude i'm…

i hear you dude i'm going through same thing

• Suboxone is the worst drug…

Suboxone is the worst drug ever! I have been on the drug for over a year now.It is really expensive to maintain and is not worth what it will do to you. After being on sub for about a year, I quit cold turkey because I couldn't afford it anymore. In the first few months of taking sub I was nauseated and vomiting all day long and had no appetite, so I lost a lot of weight. I have mental and mood changes from one extreme to another. I stay extremely angry, agitated, or I am crying. The withdrawl from sub takes so long, I made it 16 days until I finally was so sick of being so sick that I went back to sub. I also experienced panic attacks on a daily basis during my 16 day withdrawl. While on sub, my arms and fingers go completely numb especially at night or they are that way when I wake up. I have had several experiences of my arms and hands going numb even when I am using them. I am always constipated and I find it really hard to urinate. I have swelling in my hands, legs, and feet. Acne. Severe drowsiness and this makes driving very difficult. If you are a smoker, as I am, you will be smoking a lot more than you ever have. No sex drive and if I rarely get in the mood, I will never orgasm. The worst of it all is that I don't feel much inside, kinda dead inside. Nothing makes me happy anymore, and I do not have much desire for anything. I want to be off this miserable drug but I have to go to work to pay bills and I cannot take two months off of work to withdrawl. It may be less painful but it takes much, much longer. Like I said above I made it 16 days and was still in withdrawl. I had a legimate reason for being on opiate pain meds and was under the care of a doctor. I was on them for 7 months and my body became dependent on them and I became addicted. If you are thinking about taking this drug please do your research and make sure sub is the way you want to go. If I could do it again I would have just taken the withdrawl from opiates because I would have been fine in a few weeks, but I let a doctor talk me into this route. Doctor's are not always right and sadly, now days it's more about money than a patient.

• i have been on suboxone for…

i have been on suboxone for about 18 months and it has helped me tremendously. i dont even have a want or desire for opiates at all. however i have experienced significent weight loss and alot of problems with my teeth.

• I had heard that numbness…

I had heard that numbness or tingling in fingers or hands was a normal side-effect, but do some extra research on it to be sure :)...but I think your okay.

• yes, it IS from the suboxone.…

yes, it IS from the suboxone. I spoke w/my doc recently about his. It is a typical side effect from opiate and opiate-like meds i.e. urinary issues, water retention, constipation, muscle aches etc

• Yes! I know you asked…

Yes! I know you asked in Aug, but in case you didn't get an answer or someone else has trouble. Although I can pee, I rarely do. I retain water & gained weight. It's a lesser known side effect that it makes some people hold water. Fortunately, my doc knew about it. I told him I felt like a sausage, all shoved in the sausage casing ya know. He gave me water pills though they don't do much.

I don't think pharmacists really know much about it. I asked one about a med recently and she read the paper that comes w/the script, as though I can't read or something. Anyhow, yes, it's from Suboxone. See if you can get a water pill, Hydrochlorothiazide is what I take. I spelled from memory but think it's right.

• I have been on suboxone for…

I have been on suboxone for a few weeks now. I have noticed that twice, randomly, my fingertips become completely numb - Has anybody else experienced this? There is nothing listed in the side effects about this. I also has a fever of 102 for 24 hours, then it disappeared. Not it appears to be coming back and I have the numb fingertips again. Anyone????

• I have been on the Suboxone…

I have been on the Suboxone sublingual film for 2 monts, the tast isnt that bad. I sleep ok, only if I take like a sleep aid from the store. I feel good for a little while, but 2night Im feeling like crap. I take 16 milgrams a day. Iv allways had to deal w depression.

• I started taking suboxone…

I started taking suboxone in 2003. I still messed around with heroin the first year until I got serious about my medication. I was down to 2mg about 3 1/2 years ago but was having trouble getting off entirely. Well, some things happened and I decided to go on methadone for a year. This was horrible because by the end of the year I was at 200+mg of methadone. I managed to get off the methadone(horrible experience) and get back on subs but ever since my dose has been between 16-24mg. I am currently on 16mg and have had trouble tapering down because of a lack of energy. I was laid off from work last week and want to use my time to my advantage and get off the subs because they don't seem to be effecting me like they use to. My doctor thinks it could be minor nerve damage from long term opiate dependence. I've gotten use to feeling achey. I generally feel somewhat ok, but halfway through the day I lose all energy and the aches get worse. I find myself drinking pot after pot of coffee just to get through the day. Also, I feel as if I am overly sensitive to temperatures, one minute I feel like I'm boiling, if I even sweat the slightest bit I am freezing cold, especially if I am hit with a breeze. I don't really know what to think, other that I want to be off it. From everything I've read It seems like getting off suboxone will be an unpleasant experience. Again I want to use this time to my advantage so I was considering trying cold turkey, I don't really have the time to taper down because I'd like to be back at work in a month or two. Has anyone tried go off cold turkey that has had such an extensive history with this medication?? I know what to expect, I am just wondering how long and how bad it will be. I would greatly appreciate any help, suggestions, or ideas on how to make this more tolerable. Thanks-JB

• hello, my daughter who is…

hello, my daughter who is 23 years old has been on suboxine since Jan 2010 and she is having the worst side effects with this drug. she has blurred vision, muscle aches, twitches, stomach cramps, loss of weight, and sleeps all the time no matter what time she goes to bed. she can sleep 24 hrs and still be exhausted. I have seen the changes in her and it breaks my heart to see her go through this pain that this medication is causing her. she also has hot flashes that are unbearable. she is very weak and depressed. I can't understand why a doctor would treat a patient with this type of drug. she is going to gradually wean herself off of the subs and pristiq which has terrible side effects.

• I have just stopped takin…

I have just stopped takin suboxone and yes have neck pain and bad anxiety issues although I was put on buspar . I havent slept and I want to cry alot i feel very emotional

• I am unable to urinate. …

I am unable to urinate. I have been on the suboxine for about two weeks and recently been having major trouble urinating. Today I had to go to the ER to get a catheder. They said it is from the suboxone. When this first started a few days ago, I talked to two doctors and a pharmacist and they all said that sub won't do that. Anyone have this experience?

• I have been on Suboxone since…

I have been on Suboxone since January. I switched to sub from 37ml of methadone b/c my health ins covers the sub and I thought it would be easier to get off of. I was wrong. I started on 24mg of sub and my dr has kept me at that dose. I skipped a couple doses while on vacation in May and realized how much better and less sedated I felt at 16mg instead of 24mg. So, I decided to drop down to 8mg. Then, I stopped taking suboxone in June and made it about 10 days. Just when I thought I was turning the corner, I would have another bad day. The withdrawals are very unpleasant and I have to work a lot of hours. Does anyone have any tips on how I can get off Suboxone and still be able to work every day? The side effects of sub are getting worse as well. At first, i seemed to be doing ok, but after about 8 weeks, I started getting really depressed. The dr put me on Cymbalta which worked for a little while, but I have become depressed again in the last 4 weeks. I have also developed OCD like behavior and am having a lot of anxiety, neck pain, muscle aches, leg twitches. It is very hard for me to get up in the morning. I used to be able to wake up early even on the methadone and now I sleep through the alarm clock. I can sleep for hours and hours and still feel tired like I could sleep all day. I know I need to exercise but can't seem to get on a regular program. Once I'm up for a couple hours, I feel a little better, but by mid-afternoon I'm usually tired again. I get sleepy while driving and have low energy levels. I just want to feel better. I know I have to stop sub if I want to feel like my normal self again. I don't have any desire to get back on pain pills. I don't have cravings. I just want to stop this suboxone so I can get healthy again. I feel like crap all the time now. I've even thought about taking methadone pills to help with the sub withdrawals and stopping before I become dependent on the methadone. I'm not sure how long I could take the methadone w/o becoming addicted to it? I know this is not a desirable solution, but I am desperate to stop the suboxone. I feel like it is toxic to my body. It is hard for me to fulfill my responsibilities as a wife, as an employee, as a person while feeling this awful. Thanks for reading and any advice you can give me. I will appreciate your support. Good Luck to everybody.

• yes Betty! I have muscle…

yes Betty! I have muscle pain too. I have a long commute to work and have trouble getting out of my car when I get there after driving an hr. Also, it is hard to get up in the morning. When I first get up, I walk stiff-legged and slow until my muscles warm up. This is so embarassing too. I know what you are going thru. At first, I thought it might be bursitis or something, but I believe it is the suboxone.

• Hi. yes i have the same symptoms…

Hi. yes i have the same symptoms. I feel terrible when I wake up in the can. I have lots of back pain, leg pain, general pain and muscle stiffness: a general feeling of malaise and fatigue. After I'm up for little while, I usually feel better for awhile but by mid afternoon, I am tired again. I get very sleepy driving my car in the morning and at night. I can sleep for hours and hours, but I still have trouble getting up in the morning. It has become very difficult for me to get to work on time and I don't have the energy to do a lot of things I used to like doing. I keep telling myself I'm going to get up early and exercise, but I just can't get out of bed in time. I feel like crap and am becoming more and more depressed. I have started to isolate myself from family and friends. I want to get off Suboxone. I tried 6 weeks ago and wend 9 days. I thought the withdrawals would be better by then, but they were still bad. I had a family member visiting from out of town so I decided to start taking a small dosage so I would have the energy to entertain them while they stayed at our house. Now, I am on a low dosage and my guest is gone but I'm scared to stop taking the sub again b/c I have to work. I also have some other weird side effects like obsessive thoughts, anxiety, panic attacks, muscle twitches, and lots of sadness. Does anyone have any tips on how I can get thru the sub withdrawals and still be comfortable enough to work 40+ hrs a week. The withdrawals were very unpredictable: one day i would think i was beginning to feel better and the next day would be really bad again. One minute i would be sweating and the next I would have chills and the stomach cramps and diarrhea were awful. Please help! I just want to feel like myself again. I have been in treatment for over a year w/o going back to "pain pills." Initially i tried methadone which worked very well for me and it also acted like an anti-depressant, but I was working so many hours that it made it hard to go to the clinic every day for dosing. Then, I switched to suboxone in January and things were ok for awhile. Then, I started developing unpleasant side effects, like muscle aches, stiffness, depression, OCD, panic attacks, muscle twitching, fatigue, and trouble getting up in the morning. I really want to be drug free. I even thought about taking methadone pills to ease the withdrawals from suboxone but I would need to quit the methadone before becomming dependent on that. I want to be my happy, energetic pre-addiction self again. Is this just wishful thinking?

• I have been on Suboxone for…

I have been on Suboxone for 6 years!! Hard to believe. My doctor has agreed that staying on it is so much better than not. I worry though that hes not as smart as I think he is!! Has anyone else been on it this long?

• I hope I am not too late…

I hope I am not too late to post on here. I have been on Suboxone since July of 2008 (with a few relapses here and there). Some things I have noticed to feel more often than not is muscle pain/fatigue during the day and worse when I wake up. I also have ZERO energy to do anything and have become extremely lazy with no desire. In my mind I want to get uyo and get active and healthy but my body wont allow it. The muscle pain and fatigue are my worst and want to know if anyone else feels this and have any success?

• Carla other than the side…

Carla other than the side effects of muscle pain I think suboxine has helped me tremendously. I dont think I could have made it through without it. I went to a detox center and did not experience any withdrawls, but suboxine can also be addictive so be careful and follow you doctors direction.

• I have been on Suboxine for…

I have been on Suboxine for a month and I am having terrible muscle pain. From my hands to my feet. It is worse when I get up from sitting or laying for a long period of time. Has anyone else experienced this?

• I have been on suboxone…

I have been on suboxone two years and it saved me and my family the only side effect is sleepy and not wanting to have sex

• I have experienced severe…

I have experienced severe panic attacks while taking 16mg per day dose, that is taking 8 mg twice a day. I actually do better if I break the pill into fourths and take throughout the day until all the medication has been taken for the day. However, when I (myself, yes indeed) lowered the dosage to 8 mg per day it seems the panic attacks went away, at least the severity did. I will occasionally have a panic attack every few days but nothing like I was having them before. Before cutting the dosage, I was having 4-7 panic attacks per day. It was living hell. I thought "oh my, I want to take this medicine but don't think I am going to be able to do so." Now I am feeling much better. Anyone else out there experienced anything of this nature. Please share on this. Very important to me.
