  • Ive been on subutex for 1…

Ive been on subutex for 1 yr and i too suffer from insomnia but thanks to 6 mgs of subutex a day i am no longer destroying my body or my life with opiates. I got off suboxone after 2 yrs of use and stayed clean for 8 months and it was the worst 8 months of my life. I think the suboxone tweaked my brain because i literally could not function for 8 months. It sucks that i probably have to be on maintanace for the rest of my life and i wish i never broke my back and started taking pain pills but at least the subutex can give me some quality of life. If you need to ask me anything you can reach me at imshooshoo@hotmail.com

  • I am a 51 yo female who was…

I am a 51 yo female who was changed over from opiates (not being abused) for chronic pain to subutex.  Since the FIRST day I have been on it I have had VERY high Blood Pressure like in the 200's and before I started this I had NORMAL Blood pressure of 120's.  I was given more and more subutex for the pain of the headache and chronic pain,  I now have had a stroke, angina had an emergent heart cath and implantation of a cardiac device like a pacemaker in my chest.  I have only been on subutex for 3 weeks and I have keep my dose to as low as possible.  I was hospitalized for acute onset of shortness of breath and fast pounding heartbeat, especially with any exertion.  I continued with shortness of breath and I have bad asthma and when i was given high doses of steroids, I felt better for about 3 days.  Now as the dose of the steroids are dropping and I took a small dose of subutex because the pain became disabling, I quickly over a few hours got worse with the shortness of breath severe and pounding heart rate with walking short distances.  My asthma doctor said my shortness of breath is NOT my asthma and something else is going on, possible high pressure in my lungs??  My BP is at 210/114. any my heart rate goes up into the 140's with walking minimal distances.  Anyone else with anything like this picture??

  • My doctor started me on 16mgs…

My doctor started me on 16mgs as had become addicted to codeine that had been prescribed by my doctor for carpal tunnel syndrome, I was on them for about three years and they were on repeat prescription.
I stopped taking them and had severe withdrawals symptoms.Dr then put me on to Subutex and after about three weeks, I found it very difficult to sleep, it got progressively worse and I have had only two nights sleep since April 18 this year.
My doctor has tried various medication none worked, I should have also said that along with the insomnia I have had profuse sweating, it os like someone has turned on a shwer above me, There is no warning, the sweatings last about ten minutes and it is very embarrassing. I have been off work for six weeks as I am so tierd. My drug worker and my Gp say they have never heard of anyone taking subtext and having the Diderot effect of insomnia. I have now looked on many website and they confirm that Subutex does cause insomnia. I am seeing my drug worker and Gp tomorrow morning (Thursday 29thJuly) can anyone that is suffering the same side effects please let me know or any advice you could give me.If I don't get some sleep soon I am going to have a mental breakdown and also I am going to lose my job, I work for the NHS and they are taking proceeding against me because of the time off I have had due to being on Subutex....Can someone help me?
