I forgot to mention - my blood pressure during this mornings" flushing/SVT episode was 180/112. This morning before I took the Sular (with 12.5mg lopressor) it was 128/88. I almost didnt take the Sular but decided not to treat myself then ask the doctor for help ;)

In retrospect, I am glad I took the Sular. It allowed the my doctor to fully document the arrhythmia and the fact that I was having an adverse reaction

Hi, I am 41 years old; female.
I've been taking Sular 17mg for about two years. Ever since I was switched to the "new" dosing, I have noticed that I no longer have very good blood pressure control. Also, I began to develop bouts of arrhythmias (PVC's) that had recently sharply increased. This increase in arrhthmia seems to be timed to a new generic that my pharmacy was using.
I take my Sular at night and had begun having a LOT of PVC's. So many that I had to have a cardiologist perform an echo and a stress test before I could be cleared for necessary orthopedic foot surgery. In the last three weeks, I have also developed a very rapid pulse at night that wakes me up. This seems to happen about 90 minutes after taking the Sular.
On Monday, I was seen by my nurse practitioner for the PVC's and tachycardia. She added a low dose of lopressor (12.5mg) to help relieve the arrhythmias. I took the first one last night and skipped my Sular. No arrhythmias! I took the Sular this morning t oallow for the lopressor at night. Today, I went back for a repeat echo and 5 minutes before the echo went back into an SVT@130 bpm that lasted for 2 hours, complete with a flushing that made my chest neck and face beet red. Doctor told me that I fell into the <1% and told me to stop the Sular (thank God). Tomorrow I start on a new medicine.
