Tamiflu

Has anyone read or researched any information that links Tamiflu to Transverse Myelitis? My sister had the flu in February 2011 and was given tamiflu. In April 2011 she was diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis (TM) and up to this point they have never been able to figure out what caused it.

Tamiflu apparently has had neurological effects on some patients. Most of what I have read points tamiflu to neurological and psychological effects primarily suicidal thoughts or actions, hallucinations, etc, but nothing has really linked it to other neurological effects. However, because TM is a neurological disorder I am very curious if they could be linked as well.

I am wondering if it effected my immune system.
This is really a bad unintended side effect.

I never had a reaction to mosquitos before Tamiflu, and ever since I get extremely itchy when out in the yard, something I have never had in my 58 years.

I was diagnosed with influenza and treated with Tamilflu. I am also a diabetic, Tamiflu worked well for the influenza but it wreaked havoc on my diabetis. Extremely high sugar!!! There has got to be something else.

In fact, I have quite normal living standards and it has never had great importance for me. Nevertheless, I was prescribed to take Tamiflu for a weak influenza. I only took three pills during three consecutive days, and 4 days before that, I felt a huge pain in my stomach. I was diagnosed with pancreatitis. It's known that people affected by CF is prone to suffering from pancreatitis, but I had never experienced one before, and either after that. Too much coincidence, isn't it?

Hi,
My daughter was advised Tamiflu (2 1/2 years all) by precautionary measures as we did not know if her brother had the Flu (due to my being pregnant). She is severely allergic - conjunctivitis, hives, etc. I don't recommend it if you don't really need it!
