I guess my main concern is, since I've read how TriNessa affects the emotions of other women, how will this affect my Bipolar type II Disorder? This is where I have more depressive episodes and rarely have manic episodes. I take Citalopram (Celexa - antidepressant) and clonazepam (Klonipin - anti anxiety). I am quite stable on these 2 medications and understand and am conscious when I start becoming irrational. Does TriNessa counteract these drugs? Thank you!

I know that everyone reacts to medications differently. I am 31 and have decided it's time to start birth control pills. I started Microgestin on a Saturday. By Tuesday I was cramping worse than my already bad period cramps, was lightly bleeding, my back hurt, nausea, and diarhea. I called the doc and she said it takes 2 to 3 months for your body to get used to, but if it got worse to call back. By Thursday I was in so much pain I couldn't even focus on anything and I missed a day and a half of work. I called the doctor again, she was afraid I was experiencing pregnancy symptoms and did a pregnancy test. She then prescribed a new pill, which I was afraid to take until the cramping and bleeding went away. I am going on day number 3 for TriNessa. The first two mornings I felt nausea and had dry heaves. It is now 5:30 am on the day to take my third pill, and I've been up all night throwing up. No cramps as of yet though. Anyone got any advice? I'm also bipolar and I noticed that I was much more emotionally sensitive on the microgestin, like touching commercials or news stories would get me really choked up, and I would get it in my head that my boyfriend was mad at me or doing something to hurt me. I knew it was time to end that medication. I wish anyone using it the best of luck and hopefully it works better for you than me!

ever since i started using it i been real moody and i been getting alot of lower back pain and now i started bleeding between periods and to top it off my sex drive has completly gone.

Switched from othro tri cyclen lo because of the money, but am regrettting it.  My appetite has soared, to the point of being painfully hungry all day.  Also, my boobs are always sore, and there may be some lumps. 

Ever since i started taking Trinessa, i get super upset for no reason. Ive been really tired. It also made me very emotional. Im switching it in like a week hopefully something else will be better.

ive been on trinessa for about a year, and only thing thats happened is weight gain. It also has a positive effect on my skin

Hey Michelle, we almost have the same issue..I switched from Yaz to Trinessa because I and my husband thought it caused my severe mood swings prior to my period. I have been running and working out but I start experiencing joint pains on my knees and elbows..I am experiencing severe headache prior to my monthly period; it is like a hammer pounding on my head..My mood swings worsen too.. I am thinking on going back to Yaz since I did not experience these side effects with it..

i am on the implanon implant but to regulate my bleeding they added tri-nessa. NOw if i don't eat i get nausea and light-headed. I'm not in favor with the medicine at all.

DID ANYONES DISCHARGE CHANGE WITH THIS PILL LIKE MINE DID.

SO I STARTED TRINESSA BEGINGING OF THIS MONTH.  EVER SINCE I STARTED THIS PILL I HAVE REALLY BAD NAUSEA AND VOMITING AND NOW I'M GETTING ABDOMINAL PAIN.  HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS

I started taking Trinessa well over a year ago after experiencing deep vein thrombosis from Yaz, and I have to say, Trinessa isn't any better.  Recently I have been developing rashes all over my body and have been getting weird pimples on my legs.  Wounds take longer to heal, and my skin has thinned out.  I was put on the pill because my body produces low estrogen, but recently I have been working out and eating healthy which balances out hormones.  I think my recent activity has been throwing off the pill.  Has anyone else had these side effects?  I have had mental side effects and have read about those plenty, I haven't really came across any concerning legs though and I was wondering if it was just me.  My legs always itch and my skin just sucks now. :[  And it's ironic because I'm on it for acne.  Please let me know if you are having the same problem.

i just started taking trinessa a week ago, i switched from ortho tri cyclen lo cuz of the $$$. i really haven't had any nasuea except right when i take it, but i have noticed a little bit of weight gain. The weight gain could be due to my lifestyle change or trinessa im not sure, however just in the past week i have been feeling rather down after i take the pill, i never experienced this with ortho lo. i just feel fuzzy and out of it for awhile after i take my pill but when i wake up the next morning im fine.

i am in the first month of taking trinessa and i'm recently really down and feel sorta depressed.  i can't tell if it's because of recent events in my life or if trinessa is making me more emotionally sensitive.  don't remember feeling this way on ortho tricyclen, but that was many years ago...

I started taking trinessa about four months ago. My question is, Does it effect your sex drive. ever since i started taking it sex isn't the same it doesn't feel good

I don't know if this is from trinessa or not but i started the pill less than a month ago and have been getting random headaches that are so bad they make it hard for me to see. does anyone else have this?
