Can I take tramadol while on vivitrol?

I got my first injection and my last injection on the 10th of november I have a lump the size of a tennis ball the doctors told me it was dead tissue i have seen many doctors and now i am told i have to have it surgically removed very unhappy

I forgot to mention, a few times I got an abscess but it went away without any medication (besides a few Motrin at night) but no antiobiotics. The abcesses are common with these types of injections, the person giving the injection must be extremely careful with sanitation because the smallest amount of bacteria cab cause an abcess.

My experience thus far has been extraordinary. The hardest part was getting clean before the firsdt shot, my doctor had me take my Suboxone with a small dose of oral naltrexone every day at the same time, while I slowly reduced the suboxone dose and increased the naltrexone dose. Once I was able to follow his instructions I was clean in a week with no WD. After my first shot I felt horrible for the first month, but then I got better and better so that now I feel a thousand times better than I did when I was using. The beginning is tough, but definitely worth it in the end.

The seizure and numbness could be serious, they are not common side effects and should be reported to your doctor. As for the emotional numbness, that is to be expected when you are sober for the first time in a long time. Same thing happened to me, I felt numb and tired all the time but after a couple months of being on Vivitrol I noticed a quick change and now I'm feeling normal again (in a good way).

I would talk to your doctor, side effects are common but what you describe seems to be above the norm, whatever the case by your second injection most side effects should be gone.

Gracie, the abscess your friend got was caused by improper injection procedures, not the medication itself. In other words, whoever gave the injection was not careful enough in sanitizing the injection site and keeping the needle clean. When giving a large IM injection like this, it is very important to clean every surface (skin, tops of bottles) with alcohol and to wear latex gloves because a tiny amount of bacteria can cause a serious abscess.

While your concern is genuine, the risk is the same for all IM injections and has nothing to do with Vivitrol.

The day after having my second vivitrol injection I had a seizure. I also experience numbness in my left foot half way up my calf. I also feel numb emotionally. I have been 100 percent sober since starting vivitrol.

12 hours after I was given vivitro is when I began feeling discomforts such as: nausia, stomach pains, dizzie spells and other unpleasant side affects. That whole week following my first injection to Vivitrol, I continued to feel them along with many panic attacks through out the week. If I had used alcohol of any kind it would make sense but it had been three weeks since I drank when I was given Vivitrol and hadn't taken anything containing alcohol or any type of opiats.  I thought of taking a Xanax or Ativan but That would only make matters worse.  So its been 10 days since my first injection and I'still get panic attacks, anxious episodes, etc... Not sure if this is expected or should I go to the Hospital.  I'd appreciate any comments on this.

A friend was given a Vivitrol shot a month ago and go an abcess at the site, was treated with antibiotics to no avail... went to emergency room ended up in surgury with lots of necrotic tissue.  will be on IV antibiotics and in home wound care for over a month.  she has a huge hole in her back.  I don't think this product should be on the market... many other cases out there like this.  It is a crime!!!!

My husband was given vivitrol for
narcotic withdrawl. It was given to him while he had it in his system just about 2 days in to his withdrawl. It just about killed him. He had crippling stomachs pain, diarreah, nausea, he couldn't breath, and even walking 3 steps made him feel like he ran a mile. I had to call 911 and when thru got here he had no pulse was not breathing and this was less then 6 hours after the shot. Be careful and make sure your doctor tests you because this dr my husband saw did not test him and I knew nothing about this drug so please get knowledge about it.
