Deplin Side Effects Report #SELF-3529

Male patient reported the following Deplin side effect(s):My husband had been on Cymbalta and Lithium for several years and his folic acid has been low. So the doctor gave him some samples of Deplin to take for several weeks. He has become less energetic than previously, less able to sleep, he got bronchial pneunomia (not sure it was in any way related), but he has been very slow to improve with his breathing. The main concern for me has been his personality/attitude change. He has been very much not himself, (actually he has seemed back to his behavior before being prescribed Cymbalta and Lithium and it is frightening me) short temper, angry, sarcastic. I have felt this all came about in the past couple of weeks and the only thing I can relate it to is the Deplin. After reading the side effects of others, it all seems to fit. He has had a racing heart, hot or cold easily, severe vomiting and some diarrhea. We ended up at the E.R. last night because of the vomiting and he is no longer taking the Deplin. I just wonder how long it\'s going to take for the side effects to go away. I am hopeful that it will be quick since he was not on it for long.
