Mucinex Side Effects Report #SELF-4923

Female patient reported the following Mucinex side effect(s):Severe diarrhea approximately 5 to 6 hours after taking my first Mucinex. The diarrhea lasted for hours.

I took the Mucinex at 9PM last night...I woke up at approx 3 PM with explosive diarrhea... The diarrhea lasted until 8 this morning... I still have some cramping but the Imodium I took is helping.

Dosage: One pill only
Frequency: one time only
Age: 72
Weight: 150
Other medications: I took 10 ml of Delsym cough syrup at 10PM, one hour after I took the Mucinex
Diagnosis: I had a bad cold...coughing, runny nose. I took one dose of Delsym cough syrup one hour after taking one Mucinex tablet last night.
Pre-existing conditions: None other then occasional bouts with fibroimyalgia. Some IBS...but nothing that keeps me from doing what I want to. I am caucasion, I don\'t drink or smoke...and I am not on any prescription medications.
