Doxycycline Side Effects Report #SELF-5329
Female patient reported the following Doxycycline side effect(s):Painful and swollen left leg. Deep vein thrombosis in the lower left leg.
After 7 end of days course of Doxycline chest infection improve. Very painful left leg. Painful to walk on and slowly gradual swelling over next 2 days. Investigation in hospital with blood tests showed normal coagualtion studies but D-dimer very high. Started on Low molecular weight heparin.

Dosage: 100mg 7 days.

Other medications: Paracetamol. Ibuprofen.
Diagnosis: Chest Infection. Crepitations in both bases. Chest x ray showed consolidation on both lower zones. Treated in the community.
Pre-existing conditions: Two normal pregnancy and healthly child. No previous DVTs. Never on any medications like oral contraceptives. Not long distance travelling. No family history of DVTs.
