Treated with acetaminophen (1g every 6 hours) and ibuprofen (600mg every 6 to 8 hours); and the symptoms were improving by hour 12; and continued to improve, with mimimal symptoms at hour 24, and continued improvement at hour 36; very little stiffness at hour 48; and complete dissappearance of symptoms at hour 72 after the immunizations.". "Information regarding Prevnar was received from a Pediatrician regarding a 4-year-old male patient who, on 07-Mar-2006, received a dose of Prevnar along with a dose of M-M-R II and a dose of Varivax. On 11-Mar-2006, the patient developed a febrile seizure. Relevant medical history was not provided. Concomitant medications were not reported. On 07-Mar-2006, the patient received a dose of Prevnar and other childhood vaccines. On 11-Mar-2006, the patient developed febrile seizure and was hospitalized. The reporter considered the events to be life-threatening. On 13-Mar-2006, the patient recovered and was discharged from the hospital. Information regarding Prevnar was received from a healthcare professional regarding a female patient who had a positive test result for streptococcal pneumoniae. At 15 months of age, the patient received the fourth dose on 05-Jun-2006. The patient also received the first dose of M-M-R on 05-Jun-2006. On 05-Jun-2006 the patient received her 4th dose of Prevnar. Within 12 hours after vaccination on 06-Jun-2006, the patient was hospitalized with a fever of 103 deg. F. Testing was positive for streptococcal pneumoniae. It was noted that the ""test report was sent to the state to see what strain it is"". "Information regarding Prevnar was received from a consumer regarding a 13-month-old male patient who was inadvertently given a fifth dose of Prevnar and developed a fever. At 13 months of age, the patient received the fifth dose on 03-Apr-2006. The patient also received a dose of Varicella Virus Vaccine, live (manufacturer unknown) and M-M-R (Merck Sharp & Dome) on 03-Apr-2006. Indication for Prevnar was immunization. Product was administered on 03-Apr-2006. Dose regimen was 1 dose 1 time per day (intramuscular). Concomitant medications were not reported. A father reported that his son was inadvertently given a fifth dose of Prevnar (incorrect dose administered) (accidental overdose) on 03-Apr-2006. At this time, the patient also received a dose of Varicella Virus Vaccine, Live and M-M-R ; on 01-Mar-2006, the child had previously received these vaccines along with a 4th dose of Prevnar. On 04-Apr-2006 the patient developed a fever (pyrexia). On an unspecified date, the fever resolved. Follow-up information indicated that the patient had no fever, papules were noted on the trunk and hairline and itching was noted. The patient was seen for a doctor's visit. Treatment included Benadryl elixir and Aveeno bath powder 2-3 times a day. ""Isolate"" was noted. Subsequently, the patient recovered. There was no product quality complaint involved. MEASLES + MUMPS + RUBELLA (MMR II) problem was reported from CT on May 24, 2007. Female patient , child 1.0 years of age, was vaccinated with MEASLES + MUMPS + RUBELLA (MMR II) on May 16, 2007. "Information has been received from LPN concerning an 8 year old female with microcephaly and a developmental delay who on 13-APR-1998 was vaccinated SC in the left arm with a first dose of Varivax (lot # 625131/0053H). Concomitant therapy that day included a first dose SC in the right arm of MMR II (lot # 619382/0102E) and a third dose PO of Orimune (lot 0787C). It was reported that the patient had cold symptoms 3-4 days prior to the rash. The ""spots"" started on 20-MAR-2006 and were multiplying by 22-MAR-2006. She was afebrile. She was seen at the office on 22-MAR-2006 with greater than 50 lesions and diagnosed with chickenpox. At the time of this report disease was ""still active."" MEASLES + MUMPS + RUBELLA (MMR II) problem was reported from TX on May 24, 2007. Female patient , child 1.2 years of age, was vaccinated with MEASLES + MUMPS + RUBELLA (MMR II) on May 16, 2007. "Information has been received from a physician concerning a 15 month old female with no pertinent medical history and no drug reactions/allergies who on 15 Mar 2006 was vaccinated SC in the right thigh with a first dose of Varivax (lot #647523/0633R). Concomitant therapy that day included a dose of MMR II vaccine. There was no illness at the time of vaccination. On 22 Mar 2006, one week post vaccination, the patient developed a papule rash, also reported as 19 pox mostly on her lower abdomen. The pox were reported to be small and drying, with some others scattered over her body. The patient was reported to be bright and alert. Unspecified medial attention was sought. "Information has been received from a nurse practitioner concerning a 7-year-old white female with drug reactions or allergies to AUGMENTIN, codeine, and KEFLEX and no other pertinent medical history who on 05-JUN-2000 was vaccinated with a subcutaneous 0.5 mL dose in the left arm of Varivax (lot # 634842/1867J). Concomitant therapy that day included a dose of MMR II. There was no other concomitant medication. On 02-APR-2006 the patient developed chickenpox breakthrough rash. The rash was seen on her arms, legs, back, and chin. The lesions were papular-vesicular. The child had a fever to 99.7. Unspecified medical attention was sought and she was treated with BENADRYL as needed and monitoring. As of 04-APR-2006 the patient was recovering. A product quality complaint was not involved. Additional information has been received from a medical assistant who reported that on 03-APR-2006 the patient had eight scattered papular-vesicular lesions. BENADRYL was given on her extremities and face. It was noted that she was exposed to chickenpox at school. The patient recovered on 08-APR-2006. Additional information is not expected.". . . Information has been received from a health professional concerning a 47 month old female with no pertinent medical history and no allergies who on 02 May 2003 was vaccinated subcutaneously with a first dose of Varivax (lot # 638367/0198M). Concomitant vaccination included a first dose of MMR II (lot # 644646/1230M). There was no illness at the time of vaccination. On 10 Apr 2006 the patient developed 20-30 varicella lesions (previously reported as 10 itchy varicella lesions and no other symptoms). Medical attention was sought. Treatment included Benadryl and Aveeno. There was no labs or diagnostic studies performed. At the time of this report the patient recovered. No product quality complaint was involved.
