"Information has been received from a physician concerning a 30 year old female with no allergies who was vaccinated with a first and second dose of Varivax on 02-FEB-2007 and 06-MAR-2007. Three days after vaccination with the second dose, on 09-MAR-2007 the patient began to experience tingling and numbness. The patient was referred to a neurologist. An MRI of her brain was done which showed ""demylenating plaques on the brain"". The neurologist stated that patient ""may have multiple sclerosis"". The patient was asymptomatic of multiple sclerosis prior to vaccination with Varivax. There was no product quality complaint involved. Additional information has been requested.". Unknown. Unknown. "Rash started 2 days after vaccination, came to see us 5 days after vaccination (4/2/07). Sent to derm clinic, with this note from derm: Bilat arms and lower extremities/buttocks wtih papules coalescing into plaques, most prominent on bilat knees. Petechiae bilat medial knees; scattered papules on chest and dorsal hands. She was started on Prednisone 50 mg. po daily, seen in f/u by derm 4/9/07 with improvement noted, Prednisone changed to decreasing doses.". None. None. Patient recovered.

"Patient had PPD and Varicella vaccine (dose #2) administered on 4/13. Patient's mother reports that there was visible redness on the afternoon of 4/13 at the site of both injections. Swelling and pain noted at the sights on 4/14. Seen by MD on Sunday, 4/15. Left arm (site of varicella booster) had 17x12 cm area of erythema, with 6.5cm round, firm induration assoc. with discomfort. Left forarm with 3cm round area of erythema at site of PPD. .5cm round induration.". PPD placed onleft forarm. Peanut allergy. Patient recovered.

"Vaccine was administered on 4/10/07 and on 4/14/2007 mother noticed ""spots"" on child. In ER he was found to have thrombocytopenia(plts count of 6000). Blood test performed on 4/10/07 showed 190000 plts. Patient was hospitalized and given IV IGG and also prednisone last plt count was 53000.". "Patient received the varicella vaccine on 4-17-07 and began feeling stiffness in a joint on his left hand and, by 4-20-07, he was feeling this stiffness in bith upper extemities and his neck with some joint grip weakness in his hands.Today, he also noticed and fine, non-itchy erythemic rash all over his body.".
