VARICELLA (VARIVAX) problem was reported from DC on May 09, 2007. Female patient , 15 years of age, was vaccinated with VARICELLA (VARIVAX) on May 09, 2007. "55mm x 55mm area of induration, erythema, and slight warmth, noted 36 hours after varivax dose #2 at site of injection. First dose of Varivax was given on 6/15/1995.". . "Augmentin --> hives, Cefzil--> hives". Patient recovered.VARICELLA (VARIVAX) problem was reported from CO on May 09, 2007. Female patient , child 10 years of age, was vaccinated with VARICELLA (VARIVAX) on May 09, 2007. "Booster Varicella given May 7, 2007. One day later developed swelling and erythema, warm to touch. No fevers, no red streaks. Seen in clinic on May 9 afternoon. Swelling was 8cm x 8cm, erythema was 5cm x 5 cm, warm to touch. No evidence of infection. "approx 1 day after vaccine administered, child developed pain, redness, swelling at injection site (arm). Swelling extended from deltoid, to mid arm. Patient seen in area ER and was told had ""infection"" at site, child seen in our office 2d after vaccine given and showed one of edema, induration, redness of about 3x6 cm. Saw ER doctor due to possible staph infection. Had blisters the crusted on both legs couple months after injection of varicella. . NOne. Patient recovered.
VARICELLA (VARIVAX) problem was reported from on May 11, 2007. Female patient , 35 years of age, was vaccinated with VARICELLA (VARIVAX) on May 10, 2007. "Information has been received through the manufacturer Pregnancy Registry from a certified genetics counselor concerning a 35 year old female, with no pertinent medical history, who on 24-FEB-2007 terminated a pregnancy. On 28-FEB-2007 the patient was vaccinated with Varivax. In March 2007, one month post vaccination, the patient was positive for pregnancy. On 16-APR-2007 an in-office pregnancy test was taken and the pregnancy was confirmed. An ultrasound is due to be completed to determine if the termination of the initial pregnancy had ""failed"". . VARICELLA (VARIVAX) problem was reported from on May 11, 2007. Male patient , child 4 years of age, was vaccinated with VARICELLA (VARIVAX) on May 10, 2007. "Information has been received from a registered nurse concerning a 9 year old male with no pertinent medical history, and no drug reactions or allergies, who on 20-FEB-2003 was vaccinated intramuscularly into the left thigh with Varivax (Lot # 643590/0806M). On 26-FEB-2003, the patient developed nephrotic syndrome and was hospitalized for four days. The patient also developed an unspecified rash. The nurse reported that nephrotic syndrome is a life long condition and that the patient is treated with steroids from time to time. The patient had not recovered at the time of reporting. There was no concomitant therapy. Unspecified medical attention was sought. There was no product quality complaint. Nephrotic syndrome, which required hospitalization, was considered to be immediately life-threatening. Additional information has been requested.". None. None. Almost immediately after vaccine was administered patient developed a welt at injection site. After 30 minutes measured 3cm X 4.5cm. Benadryl spray and ice were applied within 10 minutes of injection.. . Cefzil = rash. Patient recovered.

VARICELLA (VARIVAX) problem was reported from VA on May 11, 2007. Female patient , child 7 years of age, was vaccinated with VARICELLA (VARIVAX) on May 11, 2007. "Child received Varivax vaccine SQ in right arm on May 7, 2007. Mother states arm became swollen and hot to touch. Brought into HD on Thursday, May 10, 2007 for nurse to evaluate injection site. Injection site was noted to be slightly red, remained swollen and warm to touch. Appearance of arm did not seem out of the normal range for possible reaction. Mother states arm is much less warm than the day before. Mother was asked what comfort measures she had tried (Tylenol, cool cloth, etc.). Stated none, she was ""afraid to give Tylenol because she did not have a fever"" and the mother feared the possible harm to her daughter's ""kidneys"". Also stated the child said her arm did not hurt. Nurse evaluated arm, explained that reaction of redness, swelling, warmth were within the normal range of expected reactions. Instructed mother to apply comfort measure of cool cloth to arm and administer Tylenol per child's age and package instructions. Also, informed that swelling and warmth in child's arm should resolve, but if it does not or if mother's notes increased swelling, redness, and/or pain to take child to physician for evaluation.". None. None. Patient recovered.

VARICELLA (VARIVAX) problem was reported from on May 15, 2007. Male patient , child 10 years of age, was vaccinated with VARICELLA (VARIVAX) on May 14, 2007. "Information has been received from a licensed practical nurse concerning a 10 year old male with amoxicillin allergy who on 27-APR-1998 was vaccinated with a 0.5 mL SC first and second dose of Varivax on 27-APR-1998 (lot # 625128/0062H) and 30-APR-2007 (lot # 654527/1043F in left arm). There was no concomitant medication. There were no development of symptoms after the first dose. On 01-MAY-2007 the patient experienced a significant local reaction with symptoms described as red, swollen left arm which was ""hot to the touch"". The patient could not raise his arm, Ibuprofen and warm soaks were ordered for the symptoms. The patients reaction was considered to be disabling. There was no product quality complaint involved. VARICELLA (VARIVAX) problem was reported from NY on May 16, 2007. Male patient , child 8 years of age, was vaccinated with VARICELLA (VARIVAX) on May 15, 2007. "Information has been received from a licensed practical nurse concerning an 8 year old male, with no medical history or allergies, was vaccinated with a first and second (0.5 milliliter, subcutaneous in left arm) dose of Varivax on 05-APR-1999 (lot number 627876/1241H) and 28-APR-2007 (lot number 654527/1043F), respectively. There was no concomitant medication. On 29-APR-2007 the patient experienced significant local reaction. The symptoms were described as hot, red, swollen left arm. The patient could not raise his arm. The patient missed school. Ibuprofen and warm soaks were ordered. Adverse event symptoms were reported to be recovered. Unspecified medical attention was sought. No laboratory tests were performed. No product quality complaint was involved. The nurse requested a lot check from the vaccine with lot number 654527/1043F. The reported felt the event was disabling. It was reported that the patient had no reaction after the first vaccination. This is one of several reports from the same source. Additional information has been requested.". None. None. VARICELLA (VARIVAX) problem was reported from on May 18, 2007. Female patient , child 1.0 years of age, was vaccinated with VARICELLA (VARIVAX) on May 17, 2007. "Information has been received from a physician concerning a 13 month old female with congenital neutropenia and no known drug allergies who on 02-MAR-2007 was vaccinated with Varivax (Lot # 652082/0943R) in the left arm. Concomitant therapy included acyclovir. On 05-APR-2007, the patient experienced disseminated herpes zoster on her lower back and her arm and was hospitalized. Further information from the physician indicated that the herpes zoster was on her head, hair, and chest. The patient was treated in the hospital and released recovered, however she had two additional episodes of herpes zoster with the most recent ongoing at the time of the report. Further information from the physician revealed that on 01-MAY-2007 the patient experienced the possible recurrence. The description of the lesions sent for specimen were crusted vesicle and papules. The number of lesions was reported as numerous. Additional information has been requested.". acyclovir. . Patient was hospitalized Patient recovered.

"05/08 evening pt complained of pain L arm with small area of erythema. 05/09 evening L upper arm more painful, larger area of redness, continued to increase in size and pain level increase 5/10. Pt has been afebrile, no signs of anaphylaxis. L upper arm in clinic with 20cm x 20cm area of erythema, induration, encompassing approx 2/3 circumference of upper arm. 1cm x 1cm well demarcated patch of increased erythema at injection site. Treated to cover both allergy and infection. Received Benadryl and IgM IV Ancef in clinic.". Albuterol PRN. asthma. Patient recovered.

Dermatomal vesicular rash began 4 days after varicella #2 vaccine and with acyclovir with improvement resolved lypopigmented area mandibalardermatone. History eczema.. .
