"Twenty minutes after receiving Varicella vaccine, patient returned to clinic with swollen right eyelid and had vomited x 1. Gave patient 35mg Benadryl and held in office for 40-45 minutes. Concomitant therapy on 14-May-2007 included hepatitis A vaccine (inactive) (manufacturer unknown). On 14-MAY-2007 the patient developed complete swelling of the nose. The patient was treated with epinephrine and a nebulizer, the patient did not respond. The patient turned purple, 911 was called and the patient was admitted to the hospital. The patient spent 24 hours in the hospital receiving unspecified treatment. The patient was released in satisfactory condition. No further information was provided. "Information has been received from a physician through a Merck pregnancy registry concerning a 27-year-old female with one previous live birth (one previous pregnancy) who on 08-FEB-2005 was vaccinated subcutaneously with a 0.5ml first dose of Varivax (lot# 649480/0763P). On 05-APR-2005 she took 2 norgestrol 0.75mg tablets PO, however, the patient was already pregnant. LMP= 24=MAR=2005 and EDD= 28=DEC-2005. Unspecified medical attention was sought. There was no reaction at the vaccination site, no symptoms of varicella or herpes zoster post vaccination. It was also noted that the patient took 6-7 Vicodin HP tablets, 10mg/660mg, during the fourth week of pregnancy (21-APR-2005 to 23-APR-2005). On 10-MAY-2005 an ultrasound was performed to confirm dating, results indicated that the estimated gestational age was 7.1 weeks. No product quality complaint was involved. "Information has been received from a registered nurse (RN) through a pregnancy registry concerning a 17-year-old Hispanic female with no allergies and a history of urinary tract infection who on 06-DEC-2005 was vaccinated subcutaneously in the right arm with a 0.5 ml dose of Varivax (lot# 647534/0823P). There was no concomitant medication. Soon after the vaccination the patient was found to be pregnant. Unspecified medical attention was sought. Laboratory and diagnostic tests were performed on 10-JAN-2006: prenatal AFP - results pending, ""Hep SsAg"" - negative, RPR - negative, rubella screen - ""reactive,"" hemoglobin - normal, antibody screen negative for ABO/rhogam-. It was reported that the LMP was 28-OCT-2005 and the EDD = 04-AUG-2006. At the time of the report she was well and it was reported that the physician would be doing ultrasounds for follow-up. "Information has been received from a hospital microbiologist concerning a 20 month old male patient with a history of a recent liver transplant who on 11-AUG-2005 was vaccinated with a history of a recent liver transplant who on 11-AUG-2005 was vaccinated with a 0.5 ml dose of Varivax (lot # 645164/0064R) in the left leg. The patient did not have a rash at the injection sie or elsewhere within 42 days of the vaccination. Concurrent medications included tacrolimus (PROGRAF), lansoprazole (PREVACID), ""florinet"" and sulfamethoxazole (+) trimethoprim (BACTRIM). Subsequently the patient experienced herpes zoster like rash on his right thigh. It was reported that the patient was hospitalized. At the time of the report the patient was recovering. Additional information from the physician indicated that on 12-MAR-2006 (also reported as 13-MAR-2006) the patient experienced herpes zoster, dermatome right leg.
