Patient symptoms: Diarrhoea, "This case was reported by a consumer (the subject's father) and described the occurrence of stomach pain in a 2-month-old male subject who was vaccinated with ROTARIX (GlaxoSmithKline). A physician or other health care professional has not verified this report. There were no concomitant medications and no relevant medical history. It was unknown whether the subject had experienced adverse events following previous vaccination. Previous and/or concurrent vaccination included PCV; manufacturer unspecified given on 19 October 2009; HIB; manufacturer unspecified given on 19 October 2009; DTAP; manufacturer unspecified given on 19 October 2009; HEP B; manufacturer unspecified given on 19 October 2009; IPV; manufacturer unspecified given on 19 October 2009. The physician reported the subject received a ROTARIX vaccination and approximately 24 hours later the subject developed diarrhea with about six or seven loose stools a day. The physician reported the subject was not in any discomfort. The subject has had the loose stools since the day of vaccination without worsening or resolution. The subject is on a formula and breast fed, but has not experienced diarrhea prior to the vaccination. At the time of reporting the diarrhea and loose stools were resolved. A few days later, the subject developed bloody diarrhea and mucous diarrhea. On 04 March 2010, the subject experienced vaccination failure with a positive rotavirus test. This case was assessed as medically serious by GSK. At the time of reporting the outcome of the rotavirus, bloody diarrhea, mucous diarrhea, diarrhea was unspecified. The healthcare professional considered the diarrhea was almost certainly related to treatment with AMOXIL. HCP reported that the infant received 2 doses of Rotavirus vaccination, but has tested positive for rotavirus on March 4, 2010. The patient was treated with AMOXIL and developed diarrhea one week ago on February 25, 2010. After a few days of antibiotic therapy he developed bloody diarrhea with mucous.
